What's funny here is my first question was never answered, I don't think anyway, I even forgot myself. All this talk about the cost to run a pellet stove, the cost of an electric heater, etc. I originally wondered, if I wasn't using the electric heater, what the difference in electric usage is between an avg pellet stove vs. an avg gas furnace. Nether use electric for heat, only fans and maybe inhibitors, so is the difference in electric usage minimal?

I used my kilowatt meter on my stove once uses like 75 watt's, as much as a light bulb, c'mon man

That's like asking how much more gas will my car use than my motorcycle without telling what car or motorcycle you have.

How does a pellet stove compare to a gas furnace when it comes to electric usage? They both have fans as the main source of usage I assume? The pellet stove has an electric igniter, my furnace has a pilot light.

My electric usage right now is higher than I expected. I get a monthly usage report from the energy company. I'm normally always in the middle of average and low, this month I'm above average. I know it's not only the pellet stove, and maybe it's not the pellet stove at all. We have used an electric oil radiator in the bathroom this year because the pellet stove doesn't heat in there very well. That is saying it's using 540 watts, so maybe that's the only reason my usage went up so much? How much in $'s is 540 watts per month on average?
My stove uses 235 watts to ignite and 110 watts for run cycle on medium. Just slightly more than a 100 watt bulb, it's a no brainer!

Give us some data / specifics to work with. Is it a 120V furnace blower, or 240V? Watts? Variable speed or fixed, and what is range? Pellet stove blowers will generally be smaller, but you have two. My GUESS is that the furnace will often be more in a given time period, but there is a lot of variability.

Sorry, that is just not a meaningful question. What's an inhibitor anyway?

How many CFM's is your furnace? How old is it? You probably can make a guess with those two numbers you may even be able to see the tag on the blower which may tell you amps. Or google the air handler type and see exactly what it "should" draw.
