Its been many years but my wife and I finally purchased my mothers farm house (tied up in divorce court / IRS issues for years).... Its about 3k sq ft, and we added an attached garage w/ attic truss, breezeway and family room/den...

Heating:
Tarm HS 4.0 (brand new sitting there ready to be used), zoned radiant heat with radiant floor heat in the addition (den, laundry room).

Harman Accentra insert - going in the den

Goodman Propane backup forced air heat with central air - one unit in the attic, one in the basement

I can finally put an end to using this beat down St Croix SCF unit...its been trouble since day 1 (here at my current house)...I bought it used on CL - it's never worked right. I have narrowed many of the issues down to being a warped front so the door gasket doesnt seal, and also too much static pressure in my HVAC ducts...it just won't maintain temp if its 25 or less outside, and when it heats up it sucks air and makes a brick in the burn pot... I may tare it down and do some work to it this summer and potentially use it to heat my new garage.

I'll post pics of the Tarm install and the Accentra.... Might not make this winter - garage is getting concrete poured tomorrow, and lots more finish work to do inside the other structure, but we are finally getting there...

Congrats. There's no shortage in 'new to you' house projects. I'm in the middle of several.

Sounds like you have a good set-up underway. I have to ask ... because it's an old farm house ... how's the insulation and windows? Like you don't have enough on the go;)

Thanks Windows are all replacements, still in good shape. Insulation is excellent. House was gutted 20 years ago, insulated, and re-drywalled. Entire house is also wrapped in wormy chestnut.

Probably wont be burning my new stuff till next year.

I think I might take out this SCF-050 and bring it with me. I have found that the steel around the door openings is warped, and even though I bent it back, once hot it warps again. I am going to take it down the shop, disassemble it, wend some supports in, replace some components inside, and give it a new life heating my garage....

Hope they checked out plumbing and electrical while it was all open;)

Sure did. All redone.

The boiler system was not zoned when it was open, but we are redoing all of the boiler plumbing from the basement to break it into zones, as well as some floor heat zones.
