HEy guys do any of you get smoke in your room when there is a power outage? I do. I have a vertical rise and then it goes straight out the wall.

How can i stop this? IS there a surge protecter or something that will still run the blower it for a bit after the power goes out to clear the smoke?

Yep, I get smoke if there's a power outage and I'm not at home to start the shutdown. I'd recommend a UPS. That'll keep the stove running long enough to shut it down. If there's an outage I quickly hookup a juice pack that has a built in inverter which runs long enough to get the stove shutdown without filling up the house with smoke.

And if you need the heat in an outage I'd recommend a generator like the Honda 1000.

I use a Cyberpower 825VA battery backup/surge protector on my P43.
When you loose power, the stove shuts down and pulses the combustion blower to get the smoke out.
Gives me enough time to get the generator switched on.

Good point.
Sorry about that

My set up allows me to plug my generator into the circuit panel, have to flip main off to turn on a 50 amp breaker. This may be what you have heard about, dunno.

My generator is hooked up the same as yours. Have to flip breaker and kill the main to go to backup power.
I have my stove plugged into a battery backup to keep the combustion blower running till I get the switch done, or stove shuts down.
Didn't realize the boilers don't have plugs. Brain fade on my part

I use the ups and it works fine ..no smoke in the house... i think it was about 50 bucks..cant remember...
APC BE750g battery back up

The Pb105 is a a pellet boiler I believe

So, you have an OAK and a 4" vent pipe, right? The vent has a 5' vertical rise?
