I got awake at 3:30 AM and glanced at the Heat Pump Thermostat..... _g

-13

I had the Castile running too.;) DSCN8079.JPG

Sending it east, had enough. -18 plus a good wind this morning. The good news is it warmed up to 2 above for a bit this afternoon. The PC45 has been cranking through 4+ pounds an hour but it keeps it 74* in the house. We have a cat but she wouldn't dare sleep on top of stove unless we put down butter first.;)

4F when I got up with wind chill of eekF. Gonna be around 2F in the morning and then close to 60F this weekend.
Thats the crazy thing. It was 59 degrees YESTERDAY morning when i woke up. over 50 degress difference in 24 hours.

We've recently encountered a terrible ice storm that knocked out power to some for over a week. Lots of ice, sleet, and snow has fallen in the last two weeks. We've endured temps of -16 with 30mph winds and higher gusts. This most recent storm that has involved 185 million of us has not affected us to a great extent. This a.m. the temp was about -4. Today the temp got up to 4, but with no wind. Nice day in the north country. I am sad that so many have had to endure much worse in the way of weather.

Last night it was 0 outside and 76 inside. This morning -13 very windy and 76 near the stove and 69 in the rest of the house. The insert is cranking and the geothermal is also cranking.

Right now it is -2 with lots of wind and it is still 76 in here

I'm going to bet on lack of an OAK.
You'd bet wrong. Get that on a regular basis when the temps hit real low.

It felt almost balmy here this afternoon -8F with low of -17F (-31 windchill) tonight... far better than the -40F we hit near New Years (without windchill) and the -20s or -30s we've had for most of the last 3 or 4 weeks. Tomorrow's warmer :)

We've had a couple of the cats singe tail fur this week on the door glass. We keep them off the top just in case ...

I bow to your superior experience on this. We never get even close to that in temps. My theory on the water vapor was exhausting of moister air from inside house b/c it was used for combustion rather than outside air.

Hope it warms a bit for you folks. We're supposed to hit almost 60 F here in a few days! Crazy, crazy weather... Was -2 F a few mornings back, and that's much colder than our normal lows.

Just got to rub our noses in those temps;lol We're up to 21F/-6 C ... Heat wave==c
