So I went to a local pellet stove and wood pellet dealer to pick up 2 tons of Hamers. While I was there I was introduced to the Enviro M-55. It's a sweet stove! Of course the question was asked of me, "What kind of stove do you use?" I proudly stated that a run an Englander 25EP. My response was met by a Snide statement about how I need to ditch my "useless" stove. I love my stove!
Why are there always haters?!

When a business owner belittles a decision you made in the past, it's time to stop doing business with him.

I have to tell you a story similar to this. I was at an RV dealership getting some parts for my tent trailer. The dealer sold Starcraft tent trailers. As I was leaving, I stopped and looked at a Starcraft trailer. A salesman came out and started telling me about the features and asked me what kind of camper I had. When I told him I had a Coleman, he laughed and told me that they were the biggest pieces of crap ever sold. He said that the Starcraft's were so solid and could take so much more abuse. To prove his point, he asked me if I could do "this" to my trailer. He turned so his back was to the trailer and kicked the side of the trailer with the bottom of his boot. Yup, he put a big, boot sized, dent in it. The look on his face was priceless and my laughter didn't help either. Never trash another persons item...they obviously like it if they aren't there to buy a new one.

BTW could you tell me who has Hammers in the Poughkeepsie area?

And they all wonder why nobody buys from them. <>

I think they sell a decent amount of stoves and even more pellets. Personally I couldn't come up with $4000 for the M55. I would love a stove like that, but my Craigslist find is all I could do.

Swung by a stove shop on Friday to grab a few bags of pellets for testing. Sales guys asks if I was a customer, I said no. He asked what kind of stove I had and I told him an Englander EP. He snickered for a second and said something about problems with the stoves. I said I don't have any issues with mine and it burns great. I said most issues are because people buy stoves and think they don't need to clean them. He said yeah you are right about that and then proceeds to tell me the issue will Englanders is it's hard to get parts for.....I said huh? I then ended the conversation, grabbed my pellets and left. I mean seriously, you work in a stove shop and actually believe or tell your "customers" that chit?

I think you are looking at this the wrong way. Let me "splane"... If you were driving the only car you have ever owned...It replaced your horse...ran like a top and never complained when you took it out and never had to be looked after like your old horse did.. Now this car is a "Yugo",,,, do I need to go on with my story?.... So my question to you (and the other AMC "pacer" drivers) is Why are you so convinced your purchase decision is 100% right? As for the stove in question...I know nothing about them except I think they come from Home Depot. Here comes the "hater" part. Home depot's for the most part sell crap. The brand name stuff (translation ...crap) Is NOT the same as the brand name stuff sold at real stores. (example...delta... kohler faucets, cub cadet ect) In closing ...I don't think we are "haters"....I just think we can see past the Yugo to the BMW....Just saying...

I hear ya, but I am not 100% convinced that my purchase was 100% right. I originally bought the stove because oil prices ***** me, and I wasn't sure that a pellet stove was a good move. So I bought mine to see if it would work out. It has, and maybe in a few years I will upgrade. But for now I am pleased.

Well, I bought all my Moen fixtures/faucets (lifetime warranted) from HD 15 yrs ago and recently I had to call them (Moen) for replacement parts on the kitchen faucet.
I asked if the Moen faucets sold at HD were in anyway different from ones sold in pbg stores and she said they are identical as are all parts , but often with different packaging , obviously for different retail marketing display purposes..
Personally I`m not a big fan of HD but I`d not paint the whole store with one brush.

BTW, new parts were here in 3 days at no cost to me.

Almost nothing can be painted with one brush....that's why I spray paint....

We all have had to start somewhere. Some had-have the ability to start farther up the ladder. If it were not for the god given for mechanical things I probably would have given up on keeping a pellet stove. They have come a long way in safety and reliability. I've recommended Englanders for the customer support for first timers. Get your feet wet and can advance to a stove with more features. With the savings over propain at todays prices the payback can be one season.

Englanders are a threat.....they are a quality product at a great price. The trade off is no delete support but great customer support. This model makes dealers obsolete...so I can understand the comments. However, I would rather hear how their products are superior rather than a blanket statement like the one he made.

OP, at this time the most important thing relevant to you is that you have a stove, its doing its job as you need it to. Oh and your stoked.

In the meantime we keep learnin and maybe savin for the next purchase, and there will be opinions (haters) with that as well!!!

People lull themselves in to believing all kinds of fabrications stuff that keep them from really being successful. It works the other way too...if you keep telling yourself something is easy, it becomes so.
