Yea not cool downing somebody's joy and love. I think it's due to the present economy as to many people cant afford a new stove and some places are hurting really bad.when I got my stove installed here in Connecticut the tech was telling me. How he keeps busy spring and summer because the next state over in mass a dealer went out of business and nobody was close Enough to service there harmans. So I think people are hurting so bad there doing what they can. Also some are not good business's people for by doing this you discourage and make the person uncomfortable.

Paslode has the solution for that!
Impressive..LG .... a girl who likes nail guns!!! Next you will be saying you like putting worms on fish hooks!!!

If that dealer is looking for future sales, he should be saying that is a decent/OK/basic stove but here`s why mine`s better ... yada, yada, yada. He insults you and thinks you will buy a stove from him? My reaction would be to buy absolutely nothing from him ... not even pellets if I could help it. It would be interesting to ask him if he would buy something from someone who insulted him?

Never on the worms ... sail, water ski, kayak but not fishing;lol

PS - We have the framing and the finishing paslodes! The Bosch table saw is mine;lol

High five to Lake Girl! I own more power tools than the old man.

<-----our Craigslist find was what we could afford. It was the same stove we were looking at at a dealer but we couldn't get the financing

Well, I bought all my Moen fixtures/faucets (lifetime warranted) from HD 15 yrs ago and recently I had to call them (Moen) for replacement parts on the kitchen faucet.
I asked if the Moen faucets sold at HD were in anyway different from ones sold in pbg stores and she said they are identical as are all parts , but often with different packaging , obviously for different retail marketing display purposes..
Personally I`m not a big fan of HD but I`d not paint the whole store with one brush.

BTW, new parts were here in 3 days at no cost to me.

This is not true. many moen and delta product made for the big box store have cheaper guts....seals valves etc to make them slighly less expensive. I am not saying this is bad, but look at model numbers at everything at lowes and home depot, they are exclusive to those stores. Ill give you an example I have a husqvarna snow blower, they sell a unit at home depot with the same engine and cutting width but if you look closely the cables and handles are different, and so is the model number.

Look I am not saying one is better than the other but especially with plumbing. I have bought bathroom faucets from a plumbing supply store, and from home depot, both moen memoires, but the parts that connect to the sink were metal from the plumbing store, and plastic from home depot..

As far as the wood stoves go in my experience wood stove store guys are not nice in general, they all put down each others products, and seem to push the products they make the most on. I went to order a replacement part and the guy at the store kept aking me where i bought the stove, and i said why?, he said i should go to them for the part...I was confused why would he not want to take my money?

I do use them now around the house, but back then they didn't have them. I splice and troubleshoot fiberoptic communications cable now so the wear and tear has been reduced.

My take is he is trying to make a sell on new stoves but going about it the wrong way! Hopefully will realize it is hurting his sells and change is strategy before he goes bankrupt. I would just shrug the comment or reply back with the same. Pellet source could be found elsewhere but if good price & service is there then keep the source, just saying! The economy is hurting and people do drastic things (sad).

Please believe, my feelings are not hurt at all. I just remember when I was a young upstart mechanic working for Toyota, I made a comment about a "pile of cap car" my mentor darn near strangled me! He Told Me Never Make Fun of someone's vehicle. It may be all they have. You never know the story of what people may have or not have. Since that day I NEVER put someone down about what they have.
A poster said something in comparison to vehicles earlier. My first vehicle was a 1988 Dodge Omni. I got made fun of, but I loved that car. It allowed me to save for my next car.
My Englander ignited a firestorm in my home. We LOVE pellet stoves. Someday I may step up to an Enviro, Harman or whatever. But for now, especially with Englander excellent customer service, I will be running this EP 25 for all its worth!

We have his and hers for some things but he beats me in the tool department - marine construction for many years - diving helmets, compressors, breakers, welder, chamber, etc. He does share his Kubota though and likes to come home to the driveway cleared.;lol

For those who wanted to know about Englander...... taken right from their web site.

In 1975, Bob England started making stoves (literally) in his own backyard. Soon he had enough business to keep his sons busy, then his family, and today England's has grown into a multi-faceted enterprise that keeps salesmen, office staff, metal working craftsmen and even a fleet of truck drivers on its payroll. England's is located along U.S. Route 29 in Monroe, VA, where we're currently building another plant facility to keep up with increased demand.

Englander, Summers Heat and Timber Ridge stoves are carried nationwide by well-known retailers including lumberyards, distributors, stove dealers, DIY stores and "big box" centers (Click Here for a list of dealers).
The reason for the popularity of our products is quite simple: Ron England believes - as his father did - in making available a quality product (our stoves are well-known for being seen across the nation, heating family rooms after years of service) at a great price (we're among the most competitively-priced out there, and have been for decades).

England's Stove Works carries this philosophy over to its Metal Fabrication Services -
we're proud of our powerful fabrication capabilities - and we offer our services at a very competitive rate,
with the promise of the same excellent quality that is found in our stoves.
