I am hoping for any help. I have a Lopi Leyden pellet stove that when my auger groans very loudly when feeding pellets. I have emptied the box and thoroughly cleaned it. I tried to disconnect the motor from the shaft, The noise is not from the motor. I tried WD-40 and that worked for a few days but it louder. I was unable to take out the augur or separate the motor from the shaft, could only loosen it up. Any help or suggestions would greatly appreciated.

My Lopi Leyden did that this year for the 1st time. I had to lubricate the auger in the back just above the square box at base of the auger. The stove company came to do it the first time and then it started again so I lubreicated it really well and problem solved. The techs said the auger seldom needs to be replaced. Just FYI. I never saw or read anything about lubricating this part, but it works fine again. I have had the stove since 2008 and never lubricated til this point.
I tried WD-40 and it worked, just only lasted about 2 weeks, and did it again. Did you lubricate it by the motor or from inside the pellet box? I put the WD 40 inside the box. But it won't last two long I am sure.

What kind of lubricant did you use on the auger shaft? I read on here a few years ago about a brass bushing that can cause noise and needs lubricant.

Mine did this in the second or third winter. Dealer replaced the motor first, and it came back within a day or two. Then they replaced the auger and bushing. I haven't had a problem since.
I do not know how close the auger is to the one described in the thread below, but it may be worth a try to "Pimp Your Auger!"

I ordered a new bottom auger bushing plate, with my luck it will be the top bushing and that I cannot figure out how to get it off )any ideas?. I will take some pictures when I do the lower bushing plate.

I had the same issue last year. I was able to confirm the bearing was seizing by loosening the set screw for the auger motor and try turning the auger by hand. It was almost impossible to turn. WD-40 will not last, you need to use a better lubricant. Either a dry lube or I used marvel mystery oil.
Does anyone know how to remove the auger motor from the shaft. I tried, but it did not want to come off and O did not want to pry to hard in fear that I might break something else. I have the Lopi Leyden.

I have replaced the auger bearing in a few of those stoves. The auger motor can get really stuck on. I spray the shaft and inside the set collar after the set bolt is removed with PB Blaster. Then I use a small crow bar and wood and bang with a hammer like an impact wrench to slowly bang it off.

Also I like to upgrade the brass bearing to a high temp Nylon bearing that never needs lubrication!
Then Pimp the auger, clean it with a wire wheel on the drill driver and then spray with "Dry Moly"
