Hoping it's red oak. Had a distinct smell when I split it.

Nice! Looks like the red oak in my Avatar Pic. A buddy of mine tells me red oak smells like cat urine, can't get it out of my head since he has mentioned it a couple years ago. <> I am burning some as we speak and it performs well once the wind and sun do their part. Enjoy!!!

Some very nice wood there. Give it plenty of time to dry.
 
Thanks. I'll move it to my long term oak stack. Can't wait to burn it. I just got a huge maple score so that will have to keep me going for another two years.
