I just filled my trailer with beautifully cut same length, clean oak and maple. My trailer is 4x8 with 3in sides and we filled it to the top.

In the shed it piled a perfect 8' wide x 6' high. If i'm not mistaken, this is a little more than half a cord, is that correct?

I'm just trying to understand what i paid for. Great wood though, split a thick piece and it tested 19%.

4X8 with 3in sides trailer, maybe a 1/3 cord. How long are the splits?

Well, let's see. 4' x 8' x 3"...that's 4' x 8' x ¼', so that would make it 8 ft³, or 6.25% of a cord.

Very nice, indeed.

Nice. Now that your trailer got deeper:)

In the shed it piled a perfect 8' wide x 6' high.

With a 16" length that would be a half a cord exactly. The stacked/ranked wood is more accurate that a trailer load. In a trailer it makes a big difference if it is stacked or thrown loose.

Go up top and use a cord calculator - fill in the numbers and whola - math is amazing!! I don't understand it but I know it works.

Forget about the amount, this is the best wood i've ever burned. Place it on a few hot coals and it lights up in just a minute. And each split burns for a good amount of time and burns so well that i'm practically shutting all the air off. After two days of constant burning of this new load, there is minimal "soot" on the glass, less than i've ever seen.

Now if i can only get a 6 hour burn, I'd be set. Since i just started my own processing, it'll take me years to get to this kind of quality seasoned wood by myself.
