Never heard of them...but I just read about them and I understand why I never heard of them...I was out at sea most of the time they were a group. Interesting gathering of talent, that's fer sure. Rick

Yep. Always been a Roy Orbison fan, even better with that talent wrapped around. If you like the Willbury's sort of style, check out Roy Orbison's Black and White Night - shows up on PBS once in a blue moon. Another great jam....

Indeed!

Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, George Harrison

This song was made into a video as a tribute to Roy Orbison when he died suddenly of a heart attack about 6 months after the song was released. In it, you'll see his guitar sitting in an empty rocking chair.

Hell yeah! Remember? It really wasn't that long ago considering. They put out some good tunes and sounded like the were having a blast doing it. Fun music to listen to.

I had "handle me with care" stuck in my head at work yesterday. I remember"Tweeter and the Monkeyman" playing in my dad's station wagon with a cassette deck. The Wilburys were the only cassette the man owned.

i was always amused that they all took pseudonyms as members of the band, and actually changed their names on the different albums.
I like Tweeter and the Monkey Man....pretty much anything with Monkey Man is a winner in my book.

So I'm driving out to the camp early this morning and I pick up an oldies station out of Michigan - playing "Anything you Want" - can really hear the influence of Harrison in that one, IMHO. Great tune....

Brings back memories of my early days in college radio . . . played a few of their songs.

Yep. Great bunch of talent there.

Roy is missed, but his music lives on:cool:
For some reason my exwife didn't like him.
I loved his voice, and the group, talk about a supergroup. My new woman likes Roy so I guess it is all for the best.
