So far, we still love the stove! Dogs like sitting near it (unfortunately, there is a doorway there, so they aren't as close as they would like to be). We have been in and out of the house this weekend - super busy - so we haven't read or done too much with the stove. Just had it running on stove temp/level 3 (where the dealer said to leave it). Reading the threads on how to run your harman, watch the DVD and shut down for full cleaning is on tonight's agenda. Wanted to get to it sooner but it's been running so well and we've been so busy, we haven't had time or a need. I've heard most people say that Level 4 is better for general use. It's been kinda of warm (I'm NOT complaining abou that!) and, like I said, we didn't have much time to fuss with it until today, so we just left it at 3 for the weekend. It seems to be feeding a lot though. I'm going to try and figure out how much
Two quick questions:
1: there is some cracking on the stove pipe where they sealed it - so the silver comes through the black paint. They left us with some paint for touch ups - do you think we can fix it? I noticed it as they installers were leaving and I ran out to ask them but they were already out the driveway.
2: there's no mesh or anything like that on the external vent pipe. Do we need to worry about bugs/animals getting in there? I guess I thought there would be some kind of cover on it. I"m sure there's no issues while the heat is pumping out but maybe it needs something for when it is off? I guess I thought that would have been included with the install.
