Hi all - I've searched over the threads, so if I missed the quick and easy, my apologies...

I have a Harman Accentra insert that has never given me much problem the 3+ years we've had it. Until today.

I typically keep it on the Room setting, and about mid-range on the Distribution Blower.

This afternoon, it started acting odd, shut down... and the only way it will now work, is in Stove Mode. If I try to use the Room Mode, it will shut down again.

I have it professionally cleaned/serviced each fall. And, it's the only source of heat in the house, so I really need to make sure the whole thing doesn't crash and burn.

Thoughts?

if you've put a ton through it since the fall, it's time for another full cleaning including pipe and flue passages.

Do as Justin says above and let us know if your status light is blinking when it shuts down. Check the room sensing probe connections on the stove as well.

Thank you for the quick feedback! The status light doesn't blink on shut down.

I'll definitely follow-up after cleaning again.

Stay warm out there!!

Ok, quick update... Thorough cleaning this weekend, and check of Room Sensor connections, and the stove still will not function in Room Temp mode. Not a big deal right now, as Stove Temp Mode is working fine, and I actually seem to be burning through fewer pellets.

However, last night, it developed a God awful screeching sound (from the auger, maybe)! Called in to the dealer for some advice, and of course, as we had another 6"+ of snow laid down last night, they are backed up with calls, and the soonest the tech can get here is probably first of next week. I just can't win.

Are you sure it's the auger? it would only make the noise when it turns. If its constantly, it's a blower motor. Often those get dirty. They can be cleaned. Check your manual and get the ask vac out and clean it out really good.

No -- it's definitely the auger. It's not a constant noise.

Just got a call back - they'll be here Saturday morning to take care of it. :)

Thanks again to all who chimed in!

I ran into some challenges recently with my P68 and "stove temp" mode. After switching out the ESP probe, the room temperature sensor, and the control board, I'm beginning to believe that the placement of the room sensor probe may have been the problem. The tile on my heart was reading 83 degrees, which is quite warm, and obviously won't really allow the stove to call for heat, because the heat demand has been satisfied. I have now moved the room sensor probe off of the tile completely, and it seems to be working the way it should. It's currently laying across my OAK (the very end, where the temperature is read from, isn't touching anything...just suspended in the air). I'm going to have to experiment a bit to find the ideal placement. Good luck.
