Harman accentra question

I bought mine at lowes and I might need an extra 6 feet. It's hard to tell how far up the chimney twelve feet goes. As long as it's a four inch pipe I'm good to go!! I really can't tell if it's scraping the sides or not.

Well guys, I think it have solved my problem. I bought the brush kit and ran it 12 feet up the chimney, a healthy pile of soot poured out. I may need to either buy a few more extensions or get on the roof and hit it from the top.
Next up, the distribution fan. Believe me when I say this, I'm shocked this stove ran at all considering the amount of dirt and lint and anything you can think of, that were clogging the fan blades. I tip my hat to a Harman for making a stove that can still put out some heat even when it's filthy!!
I have her cranked up to 75 on room temp, and it's only been on for an hour and it's almost reached temp!!
This thing is cranking now! It even sounds better!!
I am hoping, (and I'm sure I have) got this thing back to a much needed efficiency!! I went to a cleaning class when I first bought it and I'm a little disappointed because they never mentioned the exhaust, or the fan, in the class. Thanks to all of you guys and gals on this forum I can sleep now! Lol

I'm a little shocked it ran pretty well for 3 years without a vent cleaning as well!?!

I will say this, as much as I love my Harman, cleaning the distributor fan sucks. I used a flat head screw driver to literally pick out all the junk between the blades. Some if it fell to the ground and I'm sure you guys know where the rest of it went!! I fired up the stove and the minute the fan kicked on all the crap came blowing back at me!! Lol

It no wonder why none of my dials did anything different, the poor stove was holding its own just to keep me at 68!!
I have a 4 on the feed rate, room temp at 75 and the fan on high. I'm gonna see how we do with the 0 degree weather we have tonight.
 
Before I get to excited, are there any more areas that need to be cleaned that I might be unaware of? I think I hit them all now.
How about the inside where the esp probe is? I notice there's two wing nuts on the side where the probe is. Is that something I should be looking at?

Yes, you need to clean in there too. I use a crevice hose for my vacuum being careful not to damage the ESP. http://www.amazon.com/Loveless-Ash-Vacuum-Cleaner-Pellets/dp/B000SSPH5C You also need to gently brush/wipe off the ESP. I would assume that if I crank it up to the maximum output it would feel like an oven in the house, but I'm not so sure if it will get much warmer than 70.
The stove is hearing a 1600 square foot ranch.

I do not have a thermostat wire on the stove, I just have the esp probe controlling the temp.

Port that goes into the chimney? I haven't read anything about that yet, I have mainly been cleaning the stove itself, which I do a very thorough job of.

This may have been mentioned, if so I apologize, not having the temp probe wire means you are burning in "stove temp" if I am correct, the stove isn't burning as hot as it can. Your temp set is not 70* it should be the number on the stove dial.
I would purchase the temp probe and install it, then run in "room temp" @ 70* so your area you are trying to heat will be 70*...

Sleep easy! But in my experience extreme cold temps will make it hard for my Accentra FS to maintain temps over days as peripheral areas of the house with less than optimal airflow cool down. So keep her clean, enjoy the heat and supplement when you have to with no regrets.
 
Glad she's runnig good:) I hit the 25ft fiberglass rods that screw together and the 4 inch brush.Havnt don't my ton cleaning on my harman yet but I'm all ready.
