I worked for an hour and a half or so, then got called away to do other stuff. I think it's supposed to snow some around here tomorrow, with a little rise in temps. Not sure if I'll do some more tomorrow-won't if it's snowing or windy.

Got about two cords split and stacked today. It was a bit chilly but once I got in the groove I was fine. The wife even came out for about half an hour to help split and stack. Here are some pics.

I wish I could be out there cutting... but I'm sitting on my arse... playing Minecraft... waiting for an MRI on thursday to see if the disc at C5 is as bad as the Orthopedist thinks it is.... I currently have zero bicep reflex in my right arm... amongst other issues pointing directly at C5...

Trying not to worry about next year.. but worry I will

I hope everything works out for you. Where are you located if you don't kind me asking?

More snow this weekend (about 6 inches) but up in the 20s. Hockey tomorrow morning, maybe more firewood in the afternoon. Anyone have experience/ideas on hand-splitting hard maple? The X27 and I were working hard but with nominal success. I fear I will have to borrow the splitter from the old man.... :D

*shudder*... hand splitting... I have a maul.... use it sometimes... my wood is split by vaporized hydrocarbons and hydraulic fluid...

Lol, mine runs on chocolate chip cookies and an occasional burn-the-enamel-off-your-teeth IPA. :D Winter weight = fuel for the splitter :D

my neck/nerve issues don't really allow that option..... I can physically do it... but then I spend the rest of the evening feeling like my limbs are being dipped in lava....

Gotcha. I hope the MRI comes back well: I've been fortunate to not do anything TOO stupid/damaging so far (not implying that you have). I've tempted fate but thus far been fortunate.
