Wow! We have the cold, but we don't that kind of snow.

I've cut a path across the back yard so the pup could get out in the yard to do her business (snow too deep for a newf to cross). Getting dumped on today and had to shovel it out again. What a winter so far....

Coldest winter for me in the NY/NJ area

Building that wood shed just outside the breezeway entrance two years ago was the smartest thing I have ever done. The light in it was the second. Wish I had done it twenty years ago.

the big one the path to the generator.JPG

ETA: And building a genny shed on the end of it. When this happened in 2010 and the power was out for seven days I had to dig out to the wood stacks four times and to the genny shed three times.

For sure fossil. Done 29 years here and this one is, well, different.

2-4 inches tonight, gusts up to 40mph. I got up to check the chimney (double-walled stainless that goes up on the south side of the house and installed in October). Snow blowing in AROUND the sliding door frame (not the opening door part). I guess fixing the door is added to the 'to do' list.

I am a winter over summer guy for sure but this silly zero and negative temp stuff is getting really old "fast"! Give me 20-25 degrees and I am in my happy place but brutal bitter is just rude. You people in Duluth are tough!

The up side - I have lots of wood and the 30 doesn't mind at all.

Lots of cold, but not much snow here in the Lower Hudson Valley.

Talking to a friend today who said he had heard this was the first of seven winters like this, this pattern won't change for six more years.
I might change my mind about building a house in Ontario and come back to the south.

You guys are lucky, we haven't had much snow but we're at our seasonal average, I love the way above average years. I'm a winter guy but do look forward to golf and summer. I like winter to act like winter, cold and snowy.

The extreme cold helps get rid of bugs, I think the snow insulates them and protects them.

Can we remind you about the bugs next June?
