Last 2 seasons I got by just fine with 3 tons ...... this year not so much. From here on out it'll be a 4 ton purchase every year .... damnit.
I feel your pain!

Yes your temp is that in the room the stove is in, there homes are 68 every room, mines 73 in living room where stove is, next room over is 61 in the dining room, colder in kitchen
You might need to give up that throne, Pellet-King. Sounds like you're not that happy with pellets.

Just went over the 7 ton mark, but I've been burning since August.

How many bags/day is that approximately?

I usually go through about 75 bags/year and I'm at about 35 now. A few weeks back I thought I was on pace for about 100 bags, but now not so sure, but I am doing about 3/4 to 1 bag a day.

When it's below 0 I'm using about 3 bags a day. When it's in the teens and twenties around 2 bags a day.

Always bought 4 tons and had to buy some by the bag either in spring to finish season, or to start in the fall. So this year bought 5 tons, and another ton trying out 3 different brands of pellets to see how they did.
So 6 ton overall, and I've burned 145 bags so far, almost the half way point!! Glad I did it this way, as hope to have at least a ton to start on next fall. Don't know the way this winter is going!! I'll let you know this spring ha ha.

Well I did it yesterday .. went out and bought 30 bags of the FSU's at Home Depot in Auburn MA for $4.60 a bag ................. at $219 a ton I probably should have just bought the whole ton but with no pickup truck I didn't feel like going back for more than 2 trips to load everything into the car.

I haven't burned the FSU's since before today but in the last 24 hours I've gone through 2 bags ...... nice heat.
