Hi
Had a Harman XXV installed new this past Spring. Love the stove, but yesterday two chips appeared on the edge at the bottom. 1st picture shows one of the chips. Nothing has hit it that should cause this. I do vacuum the dust off with the soft brush but that shouldn't cause chips. Has anyone else had this problem? I'll call the dealer later this week; I know I won't have time to deal with it this week assuming they are willing to take a look and see if it's a defect or something.
Second photo is right after install, built the hearth myself. Wanted it up off the floor some to help keep the dog hair from collecting under it and getting into the fans.

Generally speaking, that ceramic finish will not chip without something impacting it, but there are exceptions. You may not get any satisfaction from your dealer, or from Harman since the stove is nearly a year old, but he may have some Majolica Brown touch-up.
What is your warranty for the finish?

Get the touch up paint and slowly add a layer every day till the chip is gone. Took me a month to fill in a chip on a stove leg.
