Cleanest pellets I've seen...

…so after reading the thread about dusty MWP pellets with 3 glasses of fines, I happened to load my hopper the other day, and was amazed at how clean the pellets were.

Below, is an image of the pellets, with the top of the mound, being the bottom of the bag. As you know, when you get to the bottom of the bag, there's usually a handful of dust, more or less. There was no dust whatsoever in this bag, as you can see.

The pellets are Granules LG. I bought a whole pallet, which stated the mfr date was September, and they've been sitting in my basement since December. Has anyone seen cleaner pellets?

Can't see your picture, but when I tried Granules (appropriate name) it seemed like half of each bag was sawdust. It was the clear bags with red and blue printing.

Sorry, I guess the site didn't like my link to Dropbox. Yep, same clear bags with red and blue. What I like is that they are clear so you can see how clean they are.
 
I can see the picture. Looks like the Fir pellets I've been burning.
 
Those don't look like the LG Granules I have. Mine look like wood chips.
 
Those are some nice looking pellets, no dust or drak coloroed bark pieces in the whole pellets themselves.

I tried a few bags of Vermont Pellets and they looked very similiar to your picture. No dust/fines and no evidence of bark in the pellets. They're also around $300 per ton so I don't burn them. I have been burning the MWP exclusively and they do have more dust than the Vermont and Granules LG. However I have a boiler as opposed to a stove and cheaper pellets have not seemed to result in poorer performance.

just out of curiosity, what do you pay for the Granules LG in Maine?

I paid $275 a ton at my local feed store. Maybe I was so stunned by the cleanliness of the pellets, because I had been buying test bags of a variety of dusty pellets at HD lately, looking for a cheaper pellet. The MWPs, FSUs, Heat Resource, and others all burned fine, but were so dusty!

Yeah I know what you mean. When I opened the few bags of Vermont Pellets that I tried I couldn't help myself from staring at them for several minutes, appreciating them. The "awe ain't they pretty" moment passed remarkably quickly when I remembered how much more they cost though.

Granules LG: Definitely clean but how's the heat?
 
The Lg's are are a nice pellet. The LaCretes I'm burning now look the same. Low fines, clean burning, and great heat.

Another reason why I like the Lg's is cause I can get them for $250 a ton. Hard to beat quality and price.

Here they want 6-7 bucks for a bag of 'horse bedding' pellets. My wife was buying them for our two rabbits until I noticed what was going on I about choked. Now they get what the stove is eating.

Oh and here a bag of quality softwood or hardwood pellets is 4.95 a bag

I'm burning LG Granules this year and agree that they are a great pellet. Half a tea spoon of fines at the most.
Almost no dust when you pour them in.
 
Looks identical to my Cleanfire Pacifics I have been burning. Make those pellet darker and they would look like my Cleanfire Hardwoods I also have been burning.

Thanks for posting I may go with the LGs next year.

They are way cleaner than the dirty Green Supremems I burned last year.

Bought 3 tons of green supremes and they sure are ashy :(

No sir!!!! Not cheap especially this time of the season, but this will be my pellet of choice for next season fo sho!!!

Jus got a ton last week.hopefully to take me thru with the Barefoots I have left..
