Harman p43 install

Mine is a corner install, with slightly more than minimum clearances. My vent goes straight out to a "t" and up 3 feet. No need to disconnect piping for cleaning. Pull the ESP, brush from the inside to the "t", remove the termination cap and brush the vertical, fire up the leaf blower...and done. Blowers are fairly accessible. Congrats!

Agree with the above post. Mine is minimal clearance on the rear.

I see no need to clean the exhaust, firebox and chimney from the back. All that is cleaned from the front. The only reason to open up the back is to clean the fines box or the convection blower. The fines box and convection blower are pretty easy to get to and don't require cleaning on a weekly basis. Annually on the convection blower should be fine and every ton or so should be fine on the fines box. Mine is not in the corner but is installed with minimum clearance to the wall and there isn't a problem with servicing the unit. All the combustion areas are cleaned through the ash or viewing door.

After watching the video they're talking about the fines box. It's pretty easy to get to it even if there is minimum clearance. I believe all the covers have keyed screw slots so the screws only have to be loosened to remove the covers. Yes there will enough room to access these items with the minimum clearances. The P series Harmans are the easiest stove I have seen to clean.

I don't even have a clean out tee on my install. I run a 1 inch hose through the exhaust of the stove to the 90 and vacuum it out.

Then sweep from outside with the vacuum in there.

I do my fines box every stove cleaning / ash empty, probably around every ton - ton and a half.

I have a min clearance corner install. The fines box is kind of a pain to get to no matter where the stove is. The hardest part of my install was taping and screwing the vent to the stove.

Whether the stove is jammed in a corner, or along a straight wall, it's not the most fun job, so just put it where you want it.

I have 12 1/2 inches to back wall...

How easy is it to disconnect the stove from vent pipes with fire proof silicone in place? Should the stove be installed a distance away from the wall, so that disconnection is not needed for posterior cleaning?

I have the P61, the big brother to your P43, the rear panels removed takes away a lot of mystery about access. However in my case it's being installed in a fireplace opening which will offer some extra space around

I have a new P61a to install. At first I was concerned or had the same question you have but after purchase of the stove and seeing the removable panels on the back of the stove I no longer have those concerns. Removing them offers a lot of access back there. In my case the stove will be in a fireplace opening as well, so it offers a bit of freedom of movement around back of the stove. But even without that I wouldn't be concerned about putting the stove maybe 4-6 inches out from the wall ( I believe minimum is 2", that hopper is not hot but it needs just a little space to open the lid up).

They fired up a P43 for us to experience and hear the blowers/motors etc on . Apparently not having a running display model of the P61 at the time ( there was one installed but I guess not running). from out experience with that demo the P43 is a little powerhouse of a stove and with the blowers on medium it was fairly quiet too ( high on that stove had a little vibration which the girl said was not normal, she needed their tech to have a look at it she thought). You should be pleased with that stove, good luck with the install !!
