Had been looking at the Lopi and Buck stove but I have found a Pacific Energy dealer outside of town, the Buck dealer came out and measured about a week ago and I have never heard anything back so I have pretty much eliminated them so right now I am looking at the Lopi Freedom and PE Summit, any thoughts on why I should choose one over the other, house is 2300 ft ranch Thanks again for all replies to my posts.

I love the Lopi brand, so I'd give you the thumbs up on the Freedom, but I know folks like PE too. If you are able to see either one in real life, as in the dealer has it in the showroom and/or yours in stock, I'd go with that one, assuming you like what you see. Lopi also has some neat videos online, a tour of their factory, etc, which was kinda cool.

Good call on dumping the buck dealer. I like my buck stove, but if the dealer stinks it can make for a bad experience overall. I think you have two very good options which you will not go wrong with.

One thing to consider is the height of your flue. If you have a longer flue, then the PE may have a leg up on the other because of their extended burn technology. It helps with controllability if you have a strong draft up the flue.

Here is some reading on that particular subject.

I'd say that unless Nashville ends up on the wrong end of climate change, you'll never be cold with the Lopi Freedom.

Both the Lopi and the Summit are serious heaters that will work well, even in a power outage.
