Clearance on the Drolet Myriad

I believe the clearance to the back wall is 7 inches in the USA.
I have attached a copy of the manual. Can someone confirm that I am reading this right.

It looks to me as though the required clearance is either 15" or 7" (written in the manual as 15"/7"), but I don't see anywhere that it explains which clearance applies when. My guess would be that there is an optional rear heat shield which would allow the smaller clearance, but it's odd they don't bother to explain that...

6in. Double wall, 7in. Single wall, info from the tag on the back of the stove. The Myriad has a rear shield attached.
 
This is the response I got from the manufacturer:

Hello Damien, It is 15" in Canada...7" in the U.S. using single wall black pipe. If you use double wall pipe it is 6" in both countries. Ron G. is a great source of help when it comes to his (SBI) stoves. Very knowledgeable and very willing to help. He has helped me twice on install issues via telephone. A good guy. Good luck with your new stove.

I recommend you call him, fully/accurately describe your potential install and ask for his advise. I wish I had done this.........

Probably, but his English is every bit as good as yours or mine. I do not speak french and we had absolutely no issues with communication.
 
Maybe I will call him and talk to him in French since I am originally from France it could be fun.................
