Ok here's my story. I was out all say collecting, got a pretty good score of oak ash and beech. About 5 pick up truck full. Now usually I split with x27. That will take me to long with all this. A friend of mine with wood stove also has a splitter and offered to help split.
Now I found, cut, loaded and unloaded all this wood with multiple trips. He was busy today so could not scrounge. So he is going to help and obviously he wants wood too, what's fair amount to give? Is this a half and half type thing or what. I'm not cheap or an ass lol. I just think this was my beat scoring load and will also be putting me ahead into the next season. Why do you guys think

Ask him what is fair. You did most of the work finding it and hauling. A good truck load for his work is what I'd think. It depends on if he has done other favors in kind too.

Yep 1 truck load is good. if he's a good friend and you can mess with him a little, You could maybe say, "You don't want any of this do you?";lol

I had a buddy spend 4 hours with me cutting up a load of logs.....I split and stacked two truck loads of Ash in my yard for him when he wants/ needs it......I didn't even call for help, he drove by and saw what I was doing, grabbed his saw and pulled in my driveway. My logsplitter, or anything I own, he can use at anytime....and when we split, if help is needed...make a call....a beer will be waiting (and lunch)

Not 50/50 in my book - I think one truckload of splits is reasonable - you've done the bulk of the work. Just agree on the wood before you start! Cheers!

Yeah I'm all about helping others out especially when it comes to fire wood. A truckload seems right. Plus I gave him address of oak which if your up to working for it is about 19 truck loads

10 truck loads.

I would help him cut and haul his own loads from where you got this. The time spent in this activity should be equal to him helping you with his splitter. Once you have these loads home on your own, it's yours.

Exactly. Help him some other day. Especially with splitting were 2 people working together can be more than twice as productive.

you know, if you plan on doing this on a regular basis, you could always look for a used splitter and keep it all to yourself.....just saying. ;lol
guess it boils down to how much is YOUR time worth.
