Pacific energy vs napoleon insert

I have the super insert, its a great stove. I get great burn times and she throws a lot of heat. I think 1300 sq ft she will do good. I, unfortunately was not on this site before i bought mine and i am undersized. I have 2200 sq ft and its not big enough for me. Im going to upgrade to a blaze king princess insert, event though my stove is only 3 months old. If interested i will sell you mine

I run a PE Super insert too. I get great overnight burns and the stainless steel baffle has a lifetime warranty. You can also run the insert with the fans on or off. I am not sure if you can do that with a Napoleon? These are all things to consider.

Hey Sisu, i have a question for you, say on a overnight burn, when i load up and am at full speed i turn mine all the way down, great secondarys etc..i go to sleep, but after about 3 or 4 hours i need to turn it up or it wont obviously burn as hot and i wont completely burn all my wood. I dont turn it up because im sleeping, but during the day i do. How do you remedy this during the night burns? Do you have the same issue?

I don't have any poor draft issues with my stove. At around 10-11pm, I rake the coals to the front of the stove and then fill the firebox with wood. I open the vent fully, until the burn really takes off, and then put the lever to half. After a few minutes, I shut the vent fully and go to sleep. I get up around 6:30 am and the fans are usually still going; and there is a good charcoal bed left to get another fire going to burn for the day. During the work week, I fill the stove 3 times a day. Once the fire is going well, I close the vent to its lowest setting. I never open it up, until I put another load in.

You may have an issue with draft or the moisture content of your wood. Either that, or you are turning the vent down too soon or too quickly. Try going from full, to half and then turn it all the way down.

Can't offer much on the Napolean except many here have and love them. The PE line is what I am familiar with, and I love my insert.
I know they stand by the warranty also.
You would do fine with either I am thinking.
The PE baffle is one of the more durable and easiest to remove for cleaning the stack.
Pick the one that fits your fancy, and enjoy.

Probably too late. I live an hour & a half away from where they make Napoleon and around here, the dealers think Napoleon is an inferior stove to PE. Mostly inferior in construction and warranty. I don't own either so no bias.
