Feeling the Heat

I picked up this stove and am so impressed with the build quality I decided to make it a pet project.. It ran with a very lazy flame and I figured it needed a good cleaning. We'll it did but wasn't nearly as bad as I thought.
Looking around for answers I found the owners manual and entered into new territory. An air sensor controls the air mixture and a few other things. The sensor was brand new according to the previous owner. Trouble shooting section was very good, had to use a voltage meter for the first time. Turned out the combustion blower wasn't ramping up as feed was increased.
So is it abad sensor, control board or user board? Nope, turns out it a bad EPROM chip.
Thanks to a patient friend and a somewhat difficult to decipher owners manual we were able to figure it out. Ordered the latest chip v3.5, snapped it in and it runs like a champ. Amazing thins to me is this is 20 year old technology.

Ditto. First year burning pellets, and our Integra is a little beast. We haven't ran propane forced air since we got it going. We rarely run it above duty cycle 2 to heat 2200 sf. Love it.
 
I just got a newer Integra II from craigslist I love it they are way overbuilt, was a chore to get in basement.
I bought it with intent of just heating the basement but is heating my whole house a small ranch at 45% output and it was -17 f here when I left for work.

I am glad to hear they work that well at 20 years old, not many things are built to last anymore.
 
Picked up another Integra. Slightly newer. Great shape and displaying all the same symptoms. Tested voltages an they are almost the same as the other stove. Time for a new EPROM. Was this a common issue or just coincidence?

Kind of rare.They do go bad,just would be very odd for you to run into 2.Also the older chips all react differently(5 or 6 versions) and some of them have slow reaction time from when you turn knob,may be up to 5 min. for reaction,15 min to stabilize.The newer chip supposeably works much faster in everything.Will be ordering one,and as I cannot get info on it,will take the time to run the chip through cycles and write it down(measure everything) so can post.
 
Your going to be very happy with that stove. Im going to be close to 100 tons through mine this season. Only replaced the auger motor last year that was my first repair.

I am pretty close but I rarely run mine above 3 to keep the house at 74-75. Tonight will be a 3 night going to be about -10 again...
 
There are voltage tests in the manual. The combustion motor should ramp up when changed from low to high heat setting on user board. Neither do although they do when door is opened like they should. All other tests are fine. Crazy. I will steal new EPROM from stove 1 and put in stove 2 and report back

That would be good testing.My experience that can be normal,turn knob and can take a while(older eproms) but opening door air sensor makes almost instant reaction.Let us know what you find.
 
Tried the new EPROM on this control board and no go. Cleaned air sensor and still no go. Put EPROM back in other control board and works as it should. Looked old board over and looks like some burn spots but have no knowledge whatsoever. Shipping board to California to Joe for repair . He will,also update the EPROM. Snowing here like mad. Will report back
