I bought a used 5510 and when I got it home I found the circuit board was no good.. thank you to the guy who ripped me off. I replaced that and fired it up only to find the pot over flowing. I tried turning the draft fan way up and the feed way down but that turned into a full burn on level 1 but it'd run out of fuel, a kind of okay burn on level two but no heat out put and anything over two will fill the burn pot! I have the feed down to 1.00 lbs/hour! Please help!!

Welcome Kmills, Hopefuly we can get you in the right direction! However, I do have some questions;

What dose you venting look like diamiter, number of bends(90*,45*), "tee's", and lengths?

Did you do a complete cleaning of the stove? take out the burn pot, burn pot housing, two clean out doors, remove the exhaust blower, and clean the venting?

Check the seals on the door(dollar bill test), and the ash pan? The 5510 is known for having a lot of issues withthe ash door. If you search you can find more on that.

A mangetic thermometer is help full along with photos of you stove and set up.

Venting is three inch I believe, thick insulated stuff with a clean out T-3' straight-90-then straight through the wall.

Stove is spotless,even took draft blower apart and cleaned it.

The door seals seem to be good and the ash pan is no longer in use as its caulked/sealed shut on the sides of the burn pot.

okay thats all good then. I would like you to next me some values from your stove( low/high feed rate and low/high draft setting). Im sure you know how to get these values as you have adjusted the feed rate already but;

Low Feed Rate: press AUX down and Heat Range down together then press on to exit out.
High Feed Rate: press AUX up and Heat Range up.
Low Draft Setting: Press Aux down and Draft down.
High Draft Setting: Press AUX up and Draft up.

low feed- .95
high feed- 3.00
low draft- 450
high draft- 500

I have tried many different variations of feed/draft but it seems like I get a lot of ash/un burnt pellets and my pot keeps filling up. im using c&c smith pellets, I tried of bag of cheat river (I believe that was the name..) and noticed an improvement but not enough to fix the problem.. pot starts to get pretty full after about 4-5 hours.

do you have one of these stoves as well? if so whats your set up/ settings?
thank you.

I have a 5500m which I think is very similar to your stove. My set up it 3" vent out the back of the stove to a "tee" vertical 5ft then exits the house with 2 horizontal feet. My settings currently;
low feed:1.25
high feed4.25
low draft:200
high draft:450

I change my settings based on the pellets im burning. That being said my current pellet (PA Pellets) have been the best. Other brand filled my burn pot and dirtied my glass in a matter of hours. I have never heard of C&C smith sorry.

Just my opinion but if you turned down the low end of the draft you would get more heat out of the stove. When I burn crappy pellets I have to "clean the pot" daily but that can be done without shutting down.

ill try to turn the low end down/ put my settings like yours. I was jus thinking the more air flow would keep the pot cleaner.. thank you!
