just recieved a new harman wall pass through thimble with the fresh air part #677177 and i recieved no instructions . first the new thimble has a 4 inch opening on the interior and on the exterior it has a 5 inch hole with 3 holes for it to i suspect a reducer ring for the 4 inch pipe - i did not get a reducer . second the fresh air is numbered and what do you put it at for the p38 to run correctly and how does eccentric wheel reduce the intake air - . and third - do you separate the inside plate to install against the wall . i see it needs screwed to the wall and not possible unless its unbolted and then access can be gained to screw the 4 to the wall . thanks for the help .

I have the installation instructions, Kelly, but they're in an email attachment.
The computer gods here at work, won't allow me to upload a file, so you'll
have to send me a PM with your email addy & I will forward them to you.

thanks for the reply [email protected] this is a new part and with it came the new number and the interior has a small circular piece of metal that reduces the inside hole to 4" and on the outside the hole is 5" and no small circular piece of stee/donut to reduce the hole from 5" to 4" but the hioles are there . please forward the instructions you have and i hope it answers the question . Its going to need something to bring the 5" hole to a reasonable size around the vent pipe . thanks

Kelly - how did you make out?
Thanks for the reply . Not solved with the instructions . This is what i know the old thimble has been discontinued . the new thimble is exactly the same but the outside vent pipe hole has a 5 inch hole with the 3 holes predilled for a reducer ring but no reducer ring like the interior side . i am in need of the item that is needed to reduce the hole on the exterior side to fill the 1inch gap that will be left when the pipe is installed .

Guess you need to contact the company you purchased from ... Good luck!

there some funny business going on here...that reducer ring is on the outside part in the box. normally have to put in the effort to remove it if you need to increase to a 4" vent pipe. bring it back to the place you bought it and get a new one...complete, in the box, unopened. you get instructions and reducer.

I agree with Delta-T. Take it back. I just talked to a contact at Hearth company I worked for & evidently, HHT (in their ultimate wisdom) contracted out some of the Harman stuff to guess where & the quality control has been inferior, to say the least. I asked my bud to send me the new instructions - if he has them in a .pdf file, & if he does, I'll get them out to you, Kelly. He also indicated that Harman has put a LOT of the instructions for various items on their web page, but I haven't delved thru the site yet.

is a possible manufacturer error, but i use bunches of these and haven't seen any missing stuff yet. I think more, someone at retailer open it, try to use it, or maybe is returned, assumed to be complete, put back on shelf, sold to kelly, and here we are. Simple/honest mistake most likely, but very inconvenient.

Posting them for anyone searching for these in the future. Thanks to DAKSY for providing them!
