tank-less water heaters, in floor radiant heating (maybe Asia), "mini" heat pumps, I'm pretty certain most of the "small form" based heating products. Didn't these "small" in your living quarters pellet boilers start in Europe ? Not 100% certain, I just remember going to trade shows years back and it seemed every advancement was said to have "been used in Europe for the last 20-50 years"Geez < you may be right
I will need to be convinced this before I will accept as "gospel"

The only reason Europe is more efficient than we are is because of politics. Efficiency is seen as a thorn to capitalism in this country. The more we burn the more we spend, and that is exactly how industry here likes it. Their cars have been running circles around us for decades.

Or you could say efficiency directly correlates with capitalism, and the reason more technology comes out of Europe is because certain political party's make it WAY to expensive to pay for research and development time and way to expensive to manufacture. We as a country graduate 1 engineer per every 4 lawyers.......

There used to be 2 or 3 in Brewer/Bangor Maine that made them.... Hallowell Heat Pumps, Nyle, and another I can't remember. Hallowell went out of business due to some issues with the units I think, but someone later figured out a simple $30 fix for them I think. I have a Hallowell dehumidifier heat pump making domestic hot water in the summer when the boiler gets secured for the year. There are American made options, I'm sure some of the components are imported though.

Again it doesn't matter much what brand most of it is still not made in America.
We just simply went with what was considered the most efficient and top of the line at the time, I'm glad we did the thing works great. Frankly it has probably saved us enough money to be able to afford the pellet stove !!

I have to disagree with your all or nothing philosophy. We don't live in an economic bubble, everything we do is global.
There are two kinds of labels to look for, made in USA (whereby all or majority of components come from here [as a side note this label is regulated by the FTC]) or assembled in USA (the latter, as the label implies it was mostly put together here).
In both cases, part of what you pay goes to the pockets of a fellow American, helping keep some of that money in our economy. The more people that do this, the stronger the case becomes to continue to do so.

.......Who has time to concern themselves with the logic of a pic ?? I really have nothing more to say about the avatar it says "Made In America" and I own many things that were not "Made In America" along with everybody else here and anyplace else DEAL WITH IT !

If you live in a house with rooms that have doors--as opposed to the current obsession with "flow"--electric heat can be very efficient. You can heat only the room you're in, and even use a space heater.
That said, there are non-economic values to pellet stoves. In our house, for example, when we use fuel oil all the heat rises. The second floor can be too hot, and the first floor too cold. Finally, we have a toasty living room. Shorts and T-shirt in January.

And electric heat is 100% efficient !
another note on this subject.....not sure if its available in all areas, but here in "penn-elec" country a little secret that they prefer not to publish is "time of day" meters (residential). Much like large manufacturing company's that get a lower rate for electricity during "off peak" hours, I have the same setup at my home and our rental property's. during the evening and weekends I pay IIRC 3.8 cent a KwH, but during the day its (again IIRC) 7-8 cents a KwH. Her and I both work daylight hours so it VERY beneficial for us to do this.
