My Lopi pellet stove's upper auger bushing is growling, how do you remove it to replace it? Anyone have a copy of the service manual? Thanks, Ralph.

Are you sure it's the bushing? When a motor starts making a lot of noise it is on its way out. I replaced both the motor and the bushings on my old 1993 Jamestown pellet stove. The auger motors are available through Grainger for a little over a hundred bucks. For the bushings, I went down to the local Ace hardware store. It was a simple unbolt the auger motor to get to the auger then unbolt the auger and remove the whole assembly. You will then see the bushings fore and aft pull them off the shaft and take them down to the hardware store and match them up. The should NOT fit tight on the shaft because the heat from your stove will cause them to expand and bind on the shaft, so a little slop is good. I contacted Jamestown and they tried to sell me the whole auger assembly and bushing under the pretense that the bushing was not replaceable. LOL, somebody made it why can't I. all said and done, the stove works fine. Remember to take pictures as you take it apart for your own reference. Be sure its unplugged before you tear into it, shorting your circuit board out can be costly. Not a tuff job at all. Have fun, and save yourself a lot of money. Most of the manufactures get there parts from suppliers like Grainger

Pulled the auger motor and auger out yesterday. The lower bushing is seized on the auger shaft. Upper bushing looked good, but I would like to replace it anyways. The service manual really doesn't show how to take the upper bushing plate out. Does anyone know how to remove it with out disassembling the entire stove? Thanks, Ralph
