We want to replace our chimney cap. We have the literature that came with the chimney when it was installed around 1984. The company is 'Metal-Fab Inc.' of Wichita, Kansas. Our literature says that it is a type A chimney but all I can find on Metal-Fab's website are Type B? Is there a major difference? I want to order something that is sure to fit, which means it is 'twist-to-lock.' Our pipe is 8".

Any suggestions on where to look? The forum sponsor "Rockford" doesn't appear to sell caps for round pipe.

Thanks!

Hey pen,

The second one is exactly the right one. I finally found that very one today and called Metal-Fab to make sure it was the correct replacement for what we have. It is. I actually found that same cap for $20 less on another site.

Even better!

Ken

Glad to hear it!

Care to share the link? Just in case someone else comes around looking it could be helpful.

seems pricey for either of those caps. Local Fleet Farm has them for a lot cheaper. I'd look around in local stores and save some money

Outstanding! What's the link to their SS cap that fits this metal-fab chimney? Please.

This is the exact replacement from the company that the whole chimney system came from. AND, it's what the Bride wanted. I'm good with that.
