Been a great winter here, hardly any snow and didn't get very cold.
Still, I find it bothersome sometimes when I have to slip my sandals on to go outside and get more wood. ;)

Don't your feet get too hot with the sandals on?

sandals? Sorry but i'm not thinkin that goes well here in my neck of the woods. Kinda hard on the feet when kickin over a stroked shovelhead. But at least yer woods close huh? Your wife must have some pretty big feet to fit in them footware when she fetches that wood for ya. I hope you at least hold the door open for her.

I use my ice fishing "Jet Sled" to move firewood when the snow is deep. Mine is the extra large size and holds a nice amount of wood. .

Actually I did that in the fall of 2012, but I was in my bare feet and just getting wood from the wood box by the stove to load the stove before going to bed. A big split fell off the top of the box and and came down on my two little toes. I saw it falling and tried to yank my foot out of the way, but all I managed to do was scrape all the skin off the top of my toes. It made a mess of my toes and hurt like heck. Not the sort of thing you want to do just before going to bed. <>

My wife gets right out there when we go out getting the wood out of the bush, picking up the rounds and loading the truck. She also tends the stove a lot of the time and starts the fires, but she never has anything to do with splitting and stacking or bringing wood into the house, and no, she never holds the door open for me. ;hm
And my Kawaski is electric start, so sandals are just fine. ;)

Got a big fat -18 here, actual temp. Took the trash down and my noise hair were definitely solid by the time I got back in.

What the heck is noise hair? Sounds loud.

Dam swype!

We're in the one digit temps. Not typical. It will be July soon and we'll be talking about "a little shoulder season would be nice.":)

I'd probably say something like that too.
