Hi,

New to the forum. I have read countless posts on this forum about replacing the 1 RPM motor used on many of the Englander wood pellet stoves. My 10-CDV is a multi fuel or corn burner manufactured in Jan. 2006 that uses a 4 RPM motor that looks and measures identical to the 1 RPM motor used in these wood pellet stoves. I find the GA gear motor intriguing http://www.gleasonavery.com/catalog/pellet-corn-stove-motors.html Just thought I would post and let you folks know I'll be ordering one for my stove. I will report back the results. I figure since I found the information here I would share my results and pay it forward.

I was also thinking about ordering a stir mtor and was wondering if anyone has an opinion on which way I should go. The current motor is 2.4 RPM. The GA models available are 2 or 3 RPM the 2 RPM has a stronger torque spec but of coarse moves slower and the 3 RPM moives faster but with less torque. Would you go 2 RPM or 3 RRM. I was thinking for a stir motor that at times has to break up clinkers the extra torque at lower speed would be the way to go?

I'm kind of surprised at how few posts on this forum relate to my Stove. I know many of these stove have been sold VIA Home Depot and Lowes over the years.

Thanks Craig

The 10-CPM?? Or CDV? The Englander 10-CPM has become a very popular model this year on the Forum. Many, Many new users this year.

In the next 2 yrs, I see lots of info being posted on this model. Lots.

Welcome to the Forum. Looking forward to any feedback on the GA units.

Thanks...mine is a CDV I believe the two models are near identical with just cosmetic differences, maybe one sold at Lowe's and the Other at Home Depot. I know that almost all parts are interchangeable between the two models.

Edit: just looked at that model manual at it is a bit different. Some parts interchange but not all. That model is a bay window style and uses the 1 RPM motors for the feed auger and the stir auger.

They are different. I should have googled it 1st. The CPM looks like a Bay Window. But it has a Door almost identical to yours. The sides are angled with brass insets. Which gives it a Bay appearance.

The 25-EP is a Bay Window unit, but its a pellet only.

Never seen anyone on here with the CDV, if so, I never noticed. Many CPM's now.

Again, welcome to the club..

Man I love success. Gleason Avery was very easy to deal with they even called me after I placed my web order to confirm what Stove the gear motor I ordered was for! Then built and shipped it the next day. The quality of the new motor is easily decernable instantly. Here is a picture of the two to compare. Man I sure am glad I stumbled onto this forum and found the information! Save $50 and received a better product! How can you beat that.

Not sure I get the relevance of your statement.

Me either.

But....wow, what a difference in those motors.....have you installed it? Opinions??

Yup it has been up and running for a couple days. Works perfect and quiet to boot.

Hi, I'm very new to the forum. I also have a 10-CDV. My 4 rpm auger motor quit working a couple days ago. I had a spare 2.4 rpm motor for the stirrer and decided to try that out in order to avoid buying a new auger motor. Since the install, it seems like the auger isn't putting enough pellets in the pot and the flame is small. I automatically assumed this was because the auger required the 4 rpm motor, but after reading your post, I'm a little confused, NOS Valves, are you saying you replaced your 4 rpm auger motor with a GA 1 rpm? Maybe I am just reading your post wrong and you bought the GA 4 rpm? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Call the dealer and try to get them to replace it, you basically only had it for two months. Is it a Rotom?
