I like cat stoves so I would recommend a blaze king king. As a backup, even though you say no soapstone, I would recommend one of the Woodstock stoves mainly the progress hybrid. Both are worth the extra cost.

Is 8" flue ok? If so BK King, Kuma Sequoia, Regency 5100.

Now it figures i forgot that. Lol i reeeeeally want to stick with a 6" rig. I dont have any chimney in yet so i could go 8" but i was trying to dodge the cost. Lol

BK Princess takes a 6"..

The cost difference for the 8" chimney vs 6" over the life of the stove is trivial. You need a big heater or maybe a wood furnace.

As long as you don't mind needing the furnace occasionally to supplement and for the coldest days you could do most of your heating with any of the blaze king stoves. Princess, ashford, sirocco30.....

I don't want to run my furnace either. Whole point of burning wood for me . Luckily enough my reg buck requires an 8" flue so all I need is the $$$ for the big stove

I'm in Central Indiana with an 18 ft ceiling in the stove room. My one suggestion is to go much larger than you think you will need. If you don't have a ceiling fan in the stove room, install it now. Heat rises quickly. I was in the same boat and was worried about "cooking myself out of the house." With that high ceiling, forget about it. I ended up going with a hybrid (Cape Cod). I'm happy with it so far.

Im in the sane situation then. Id love to talk more with ya. Yes, i have a 52" ceiling fan on a drop so it hangs at about 9ft. Ceiling is 18' also. You like the cape cod? Sqft? Im interested in some details if you hve the time. :)

I'm really happy with the CC so far. I'm heating about 2300 sq ft. With that vaulted ceiling, my guess is your house is an "L" shape of some sort. That's what I've got and, through much experimenting with fans, I'm able to heat the place with the Cod. I've halved my electric bill, but the furnace still kicks on as my wife and I both work 10 hrs a day. I've burned 4 cord of wood this year and have no regrets. It's work, but I like the work of cutting, splitting and stacking. The Cod has a great flame show that the Mrs. and I both love. Fire away with any questions.

Great info thanks. Similar layout here. 2200 sqft so im hoping with milder winters and less area i can come in at 3 cords/year, maybe 3 1/2.
