What should we expect for early spring buy this year?

Will the pellet industry be able to recover by April in Ct? Pellet shortage & rising fuel cost spells disaster!

I'm out of pellets now and there are none to be found. Could have picked up 10 bags but couldn't see traveling almost 2 hours for 10 bags, I would have traveled for 1/2 ton plus!

I would think early Spring wouldn't be the time this year. This shortage needs to settle down and shake out. I've always had very good results stocking up in mid to late summer.

I bought early last year because I found a good deal on LaCretes. This season it's back to buying a ton a month from August to November. I might try to squeeze a 5th ton in so I don't have to scrounge around at the end of the season. And buy another in February. That should see me through, even if it's another winter like this one.
 
Hoot not looking forward to another winter like this..... But like you will over stock pile this summer! Ill have more than enough left over for next year but will get a few" just in case" tons! I can stuff a two year supply in the cellar even though the Mrs doesnt like it !

Would she prefer to be a bit crowded or Cold? Had a similar conversation with Father last fall as he didn't think we needed to get that big of stock pile. Well sitting here with 6 foot snow banks and no way to get anything in, the big stock pile has shrunk but still enough to make it till May. We hit 50 days of sub zero temps. Still a shortage of propain in area and yesterday was the first day that the temps didn't go below zero in almost 3 weeks. Upper 30s this weekend:) Pellet supply is short and only the expensive pine available or the compressed bark Indeck at premium price.
 
I think they will recover just fine. Some mills are or have been done shipping stock for this heating season. My dealer told me a few weeks ago the barefoot mill told him they weren't shipping anymore this season.

I honestly see this every year. Sure, this winter has been colder than some others but most people seem to rely heavily on either the big box stores or the month to month purchase during the season. Big box stores typically consider mid feb to be the end of the pellet season.
 
I'm buying a truck load...more then likely through HD...a drop ship deal I'm working on as I can un-load.. If anybody is interested in going in let me know. Total load cost divided total tons = cost per ton. (obviously $$ at time of delivery) I'll load full pallets for free

Trust me she had her say then squeezed through the cellar and is HAPPY and WARM !!!

I don't mind the cold as much as the shoveling and plowing. My wife doesn't seem to mind the 4 or 5 ton in the basement, she likes the heat. If we were to run out, then I'd be gettin a tongue lashing.

Here in New England (yes, I'm generalizing) this has been the coldest winter since 2003 and beyond that, the coldest winter in some peoples lifetime. Every month since October (in Boston area) has averaged out well below normal. It's nowhere near the top ten or twenty for that matter but those coldest winters were back in the early 70s. This shortage due to high demand is the real deal....

Could you explain how the deal works. I'm in Dutchess county and I would like to also work out a deal with HD. Who I should talk to etc. I have storage and I would keep what I need and sell the rest. I'm sure it would be decent pricing too.
 
Like last year. We still burned in early June!

Can you accept a full TT at your property...can you un-load...quickly? If yes then maybe we can work together. The "nuts and bolts" of my deal is complicated. PM me
