No pellets for sale in the Hudson Valley of upstate NY. Every single store that sells pellets is sold out. !!!. HomeDepot had 22 tons delivered yesterday and they sold out in 2 hours.

You ask what brand is a good pellet to buy? The answer is any brand of wood pellets is a good brand here in the Hudson Valley. Even Green Supremes are awesome if you can find them.

Last summer I purchased only 2.5 tons, thinking I could pick up another 25 bags whenever I wanted this winter. That was wishful thinking. I will be buying the full 3 tons this summer. Maybe I will even buy 4 tons just to be sure.

Apparently stores up here (depot etc.) feel that the pellet heating season ends March 01st. Tried three chain stores last night on my way home from work, and struck out at all three!

Up State......woodpellets.com has 299.90/ton (2 ton min) delivered to Orange Cty NY. 14 day lead time though :( .....coupon code for $10.00 off is PB27911. Cleanfire HW .54% ash.

You would think with the winter not letting up, they would keep bringing some in. However, that would just make too much sense :)

A few hours ago I checked my local Lowes store in Kingston, NY on line an it said they had over 700 bags of pellets in stock. I called and yes they have pellets. I went down and got my 50 bags at $200 a ton North American Pellets. They had a 50 bag limit per customer.

On line a minute ago it says that the Kingston, NY Lowes has 72 bags left.

They got 1,100 bags (21 tons) delivered late this morning.

Down here in the lower end of the valley, you can still buy pellets from a couple of dealers, but at prices that make no sense.

They had 5 tons yesterday in middletown....today 6...so seems they are keeping pace

Here in NORTHERN NY (near Lake Placid) we have had sporadic shortages, but I've managed to get 25 bags at a time from diff. TCS stores in the area. A few weeks ago it was Greenways @ $4.80 a bag… then I got TSC house brand (100% hardwoods, which I'm loving) @ $4.89 a bag … then today it was Greenways again @ $5.09 a bag.

I called this morning and the mgr. said that the truck had just pulled into the yard and hadn't even been unloaded yet; it had 22 tons on it, but after his employees had bought what they needed he'd have 19.5 tons for sale, first come, first serve. My brother got there an hour later and after my 25 bags they had 12 tons left. they had a 25 bag limit.

There has been some 'increases' going on in the area: $7.50 - $9.95 per bag; I probably will never buy from any of those places. A few weeks ago a Wal-Mart up here had 40 tons of Infernos @ $5.25 per bag … remarkably, even those sold out!

I have at this point in time used roughly 35% more pellets than I did all of last years and it 5° outside right now. Still way cheaper than oil or electric, which has tripled in cost from only to months ago.

Burnum yet?, as bad as the Lee Energy's I'm burning...Ash City!!

Regarding lowes. Check online inventories and buy online if they have them. The store will hold them for you. Worked for me last weekend in Newburgh. Just have to check daily. Nothing stays in stock for more than a day.

Anyone read that article in the Times Herald Record the other day?

Hearth & home on Rt 6, Mohegan Lake has pellets. They are always high. Last year they had Black Hills for 7/bag. Don't know current price, just saw them as I drove by.
