During the pellet crisis... What I'm burning

Many say no need for multifuel, Pellets are always available. I do believe this season may have caught a few off guard. And if you could find pellets, They may not have been a brand that was all that clean. Best stove to have when and if a pellet shortage arrives.

I'm a pig and stuffed in just enough. But if I had to I have corn and grass pellets in my area. Corn is a bit pricey, But the grass is in the ball park of a cheap pellet.

Crabbe's, I never thought that I would happily bring them into my home...

Didn't burn pellets through 2008 but sure listen to what experienced had to say. Wife gave me a hard time about the little extra space I used up to keep a few spare bags on hand. She isn't busting me now. Much appreciated.

yep, though i have plenty of pellets available to me (we always have them for testing here) i was caught in a dilemma with my sis in law up in ohiop, who has run out and cant find any , did some checking around from my end , and just a while ago it dawned on me how big a dumbazz i can be . i installed a multifuel stove in her house, (DOH!) so i had the wife call her to geo get some dry corn which she can get easily and set the stove into corn mode.

Multi-fuel would be a strong selling point with current events To see and feel the heat live makes it even better.

Funny about the corn smelling nice, I've always preferred the pine smell to the hardwoods (not everyone agrees). When I opened the Indecks, I thought of swamp from the smell...

Anyone that doesn't plan on pellets until the end of April at least, is pretty foolish.

Is the 400 watt M55 ignitor hot enoygh to ignite 100% corn by itself? If not you still have to buy some pellets to mix in?
Also that white starch makes the corn dirty. Are you running the bushels through a corn cleaner or burning dirty? Adding any chicken scratch? Where do you store it so the bugs do not get into the bags?

Yes don its a true multifueler, Has the air pump like the Harman. So it doesn't need help with the following fuels! Tested and tried by me. Stove on a stat so it started and stopped as heat was needed!

Also ignites grass( includes leaf pellets straw pellets) bark pellets-wheat-barley-soy-sunflower seed-cherry pits-olive pits. Nut shells-paper/cardboard/junk mail pellets-peas-beans-dog/cat food.

Geez almost forgot, even bunny poo!

I prefer to burn corn over pellets hands down, my personal opinion is it burns much cleaner and hotter than the best pellets available to me(Somerset's). Yes I took a few year break from corn when the price was sky high, however the price has gone down in my area, I am buying corn for $4.00 a bushel this year, so the pellet shortage does not bother me a bit. B

I burn my bags when I run out of fuel. They burn hot too.

If I get desperate, we build these and one SFI would toast us out of our home. (And give me one heck of an electric bill)
