Heavy rain for just twenty minutes and the the winds came in behind it. 30MPH sustained and gusts over 50. Forecast to go all night and well into tomorrow. Two hours into it and already thousands of power outages. Out in the woods ain't so much fun right now.

If snow was falling it would be being blown out into the Atlantic.

Hang tight. Hope the creek doesn't rise too high.

Rain, rain, rain.. thunder bolts and lightening in Westhampton according to my best bud.

I hope the rain washes away all the ashes I put in the driveway & walk ways to clear the ice out.

Tired of tracking that into the house.

The rain came and went pretty fast. But this wind is fierce. And the temp went from seventy to the thirties in a heartbeat. Headed to the teens tonight and the stove is kicking for the first time in several days.

Same here.

Pushing both stoves to compensate for the drop.

Drop me a line if you see shingles in the yard!!!

I'll be on the phone. That roof was just installed last June.

Just heard on the news that this thing took out the power at the Capitol building.

Just refired mine tonight, and took the snowblower off the tractor so now it's sure to snow some more.:)

Same wind here, snow has been blowing parallel to the ground since 9 AM. NO snow in my yard anywhere.....piles up behind the garden to the south and on into the woods and down my road. The wind sounds louder now than ever before today. The forecast says the gust are 50 mph, but some of them are a lot more than that. Will be interested to look at the house and surrounds tomorrow. Things don't sound nice. The dog is going crazy. Sounds like a freight train hitting the house.

Pretty cool here tonight and for the next week or so. But the wind is harsh, wind chill warning in affect heading down to -35 C. I bet that would tighten up your shingles. A little rain would be nice now and again.

A little further south of you we have been saturated by melting snow and rain. Just got power back to some communities after 5+ days without because of ice taking trees down. Now that wind yesterday uprooted more trees from the saturated ground, and some of those same folks are without power again.

Crazy.......the only word I can use for this winter !!!

Same as BB, roof replaced last year, so I better not. Still, many will find bare spots on their roof after that wind.

We were in the low 60's yesterday. This morning it was 14. Kinda reminds me of my ex!!!

We only got around 4". Had wind but nothing like what BB describes. Below zero again last night. Hopefully, this is the last time this winter!!!!

Wife estimates we have about 9 inches on the ground . . . but it's still coming . . . a very wet, heavy snow. I probably should have gone out last night to clean up what we had since this morning it had a crust on it as the temps dropped. Clean up tonight will most likely not be much fun. The birch trees and softwoods are all leaning over and bowing down as if covered in ice . . . and truthfully they might be since I did clean off the front porch last night and was being pelted by sleet.

As much as I love winter and sledding . . . I am ready for Spring.

BeGreen . . . how about posting another pic or two of those flowers to remind this crusty Yankee who is sitting right now in his office watching the snow still coming down on a world that is pretty much all white . . . ground to the sky. So bleak . . .

We got rain. I feel your pain.

Just went out to get some wood. Drifts hip deep for a good fifteen feet between the lawn and the wood stack. That's where all the snow that didn't land on my steps and lawn went.

Here ya go Jake. I took a few shots around the yard yesterday.

As soon as you step outside it definitely smells like spring. The daphne aroma is almost overwhelming. A friend sent this shot from the Skagit valley as they were driving by the daffodil farms.

It must be Spring here. 63 and sunny outside right now with a 20MPH wind. With a snow storm coming Sunday with high/low 31/27 Monday.

It's up to 40! Warmest it's been in a while. Thinking I'm not going to see any of the spring flowers for a while though. Seemed too easy planting all those bulbs last year, I should have some great mid summer flowers though.

Thanks Be Green ... sincerely appreciated ... nice to see some color.
