Hi all! I'm new here, but not new to pellet stoves. I've owned mine for about 20 years, have had to modify it to correct poor designs, and have installed other stoves for friends/family. My stove isn't a U.S Stove brand.

We just picked up a slightly used model 6039 for my GF. No manual, but I've been reading both here, and elsewhere online.

I've seen complaints about lack of info in the manual, and I have to agree.

My question is simple....for annual motor service/cleaning....there is no info in the manuals I've seen online. I see no hinges on the side panels. Hinges are common on other brands. Do you access the motors from the burn chamber, or are you expected to remove the bolts on the side panels, and take the panels off?

Thanks Bob...I'll have to consider that when I choose a spot for installation. From what I've been reading, it takes a while to find the perfect feed rate, etc. I didn't realize it burns corn too, until I got it home. That's handy. I'm more of a fan of dials, than buttons for feed rate. They're getting harder to find these days.
 
I've known some who install magnets on the panels to make them easier to remove.
 
So...I'm shopping online for a power cord. The guy must have lost it. Before I just remove the three prong receptacle from the rear of the stove, and wire in a standard power cord, can anyone recommend a place to purchase the factory cord? I've found some parts sites, but the only cord I've seen doesn't have the male adapter on the end of the cord, and they want $40.

Check your local computer repair shop or thrift store. Alot of the older tower style computers use the same cord.
My hp phototsmart 3180 also uses the same one. I just tried it on both my 6041 and 6039.

Radio shack, probably even Best Buy.
 
Come to think of it...I'll bet I have one. Our daughter's desktop puked several years ago, and I still have parts.

Yep...found two cords. Given that I'm running 2 blowers, and two auger motors, I wonder if the wire is heavy enough? I'll see if there are specs in the manual I've downloaded.
 
Didn't see anything in the manual.
Specs from actual cord 10A 125V.
Same specs on the cord from the photosmart printer.
 
Brewer you are correct. The cord is the same as old school computer tower cords.
 
I'm going to give it a try. Just called U.S Stove company again. This a.m, a tech told me that when the stove is up and running, it draws 14+ amps. I thought that sounded like a lot.

She assured me that it does, but told me that the cord can be ( I can't remember which) 16, or 18 a.w.g. I remember being surprised, if the stove was drawing that many amps.

Just called back, as my computer cord is 18 ga. Now, nobody seems to be able to tell me that info.

I'll give it a try.

Are you saying that the cord that comes with the stove is the 18 awg?

And...are you saying that the stove does draw app 14 amps...even though there is no igniter?

Everything I'm reading states that 18 awg is rated for a max of 10 amps.


However, I'm also seeing that the running stove draws app. 4 amps.
 
Me too. Or from the heat from the 15 amp outlet and the cord after the stove ran for a few hours.

Bob- The 18 AWG is what comes with the stove. 14 amps is the max draw on that unit. That's the engineering specs
 
After looking into deeper this is what I found. based on the componets now used in the 6039:
room fan 1.56 amp
draft fan .69 amp
auger .72 amp
agitator .72 amp

That would leave the board drawing around 10 amps

I agree 14 amps seems high.
Again these are max draws, Doubtful anyone runs all these componets at 100% all the time.

You are a stove tech?If it drew that much it would be more efficent to run an electric space heater.18 ga wire max rating 10 amps.Circuit board drawing 10 amps?Not gonna happen.Fuse for that stove is 5 or 6 amps.A large double convection blower stove draws slightly over 4 amps.Your 14 amp number is not for this unit.Translation from chinese must not have went through properly.
