I am having some issues with ash build up in my burn pot. I suspect it is more because of the pellets that I am burning right now because I didn't have these issues with the first three ton I went through this year (when I bought this last ton they didn't have any of the brand I was using before). However it did seem that the last two ton didn't burn as completely as the first, meaning that the ash didn't seem as fine as the first ton. Also the stove seemed to get dirtier quicker as time went on. With this latest brand of pellets I pretty much have to shut the stove down and do a complete cleaning every couple of days.

Cleaning my stove the other day I noticed that there was a gap between the rear wall and the top of the cradle on the right side. I don't remember it being there before. Obviously I don't have another one to compare it to so would any of you with a 25 EP please take a look at the pics and tell me if your stove looks like this. I don't know if this could cause any problems but it doesn't look right and since the stove is only 6 months old it is still under warranty.

Thanks

I definitely don't have any type of gap there. I would try and get that sealed up somehow because you have air either bypassing the burnpot or the air wash. When you are burning do you have ash build up all around the top edge of the pot where it sits in the cradle? Like a "volcano" of ash collecting all the way around the lip?

Yes I still get the volcano.

I didn't think there should be any separation there at all. Guess I'll give Englander a call.

Thanks

That's good, at least you don't have air bypassing between the pot and the cradle. Sr. Englander Tech, Mike Holton (stoveguy2esw), is a member here, you could also try inboxing him.

I thought about PM'ing him but figured he'd see this thread and chime in.

I will shoot him a PM and ask him to take a look here. That will save me time on the phone also.

Thanks again.

that little gap isnt going to change anything it would be letting air into the same place that rectangular hole in the back of the cradle is already letting air into.

I kind of figured that. It just didn't look like it was supposed to be that way, I thought the cradle was one solid piece.

When I take everything apart and do a major cleaning in a couple of months I'll get a better look at it.
