Air Flow Castile

Do not know your stove,but dead center should be in line with the motor for the blower wheels.I would take it apart and see what type of baffle system(if any)that it has.

this is a LOOOOONG thread to details experiments that a number of us did to try to squeeze more heat out of our Quads. On page 6, you'll see that I obtained an airflow meter and measured the airflow out of each tube after I had installed springs to create turbulent flow and more surface area. You'll see that before the springs were installed, the two tubes you refer to had low flow rates but the springs evened them out with the rest. Since the room blower has two squirrel cage fans, the motor sits between them so there is no fan blowing directly up those tubes. The inlet to the tubes does some spreading of the airflow but is not totally effective.

Sounds like maybe suffering from dust bunnies sucked into the convection air system.......try blowing back through the tubes with compressed air..

As pierhead stated, try see if you have some dust bunnies trying to camp out In the stoves convection fan before running to tech for some expensive advise.

The hottest pipes WILL be those with the lowest flow rate because the air has more time to pick up heat. That's not saying that they are actually putting more btu's into the air, however.

When was the last time you gave the unit a complete cleaning?

tjnamtiw has the answer - the set-up of the tangential fan does not push air through those center tubes.

So not a warranty issue but a design one...

So I got a castile stove at the begging of the season. I noticed that it really didnt seem to throw real heat. We are on the latter of the season and i just noticed i am not getting good air flow out of the tubes. The thing that troubles me the most is that the 2 that sit right over the flame have no flow. Please see my attached picture. Does anyone else have this issue?

Have you fixed the issue yet?

I agree with pierhead that something might be blocking the air from the convection blower.
There are 4 screws that need to be loosened not removed, and he convection blower will slide right out.
The tubes are just pipes running from the top of he stove then down the back. The Convection blower just sends room air through the tubes picking up heat as it travels.

Maybe it's me but clean more then that. I clean my stove every 2 days. Takes 5 min 10 if I pull back plates off. U have small stove so try and make the best of it.

Every two days??? To each his own, but no way would I do that. Do you find much back there after just two days of running? I will get the crust off the bottom of the burn pot (lousy pellets) every two days but pulling the back plates is a 2 week chore for me, but I'm sure I don't burn as much as you do.

Is it possible that there is a problem with the air deflector plate above the blower?Could remove blower and check.Could then maybe blow through each tube and check for blockage.
