Enviro mini and Cubex pellets/Canawicks

I had been burning Cubex (1 ton) up until last week when I switched to the Canawicks. The pellets are much shorter and seem much softer. Cherry will do that.. it is not as hard as some other hardwoods. After a week of burning the Canawicks, there are no more aluminium bits at the bottom of my burn pot. The two potential reasons for this are:

1. The cubex pellets are too long/hard for the Enviro.. auger wear produces aluminium bits.
   
2. There was some metal contamination in the Cubex Pellets.

Not sure which, but the Canawicks produce as much heat with more ash. The bags have more fines as well, but I am not going to be picky about pellet grade in this market. Cubex is no longer a choice for my stove. Guess I will have to move on.
