Guy moving to cold country and then getting fed up...reminded me of this story I read years ago...here is the clean version:

Dear Diary

August 12th – Moved to our new home in New York. It is so beautiful here. The mountains are so majestic, can hardly wait to see snow covering them.

October 14th – New York is the most beautiful place on earth. The leaves are all turned colors with shades of red and orange. Went for a ride through the beautiful mountains and saw some deer. They were so graceful. Certainly they are the most wonderful animal on earth. This must be paradise. I love it here.

November 11th – Deer season will start soon. I can’t imagine anyone wanting to kill such a gorgeous creature. Hope it will snow soon.

December 2nd – It snowed last night. Woke up to find everything blanketed with white snow. It looks like a postcard. We went outside and cleaned the snow off the steps and shoveled the driveway. We had a snowball fight (I won) and when the snowplow came by, we had to shovel the driveway again. What a beautiful place, I love New York.

December 12th – More snow last night. I love it. The snowplow did his trick again to the driveway. I love it here in New York.

December 19th – More snow last night. I couldn’t get out of the driveway to get to work. I am exhausted from shoveling. Dumb snowplow.

December 22nd – More STUPID snow last night. I’ve got blisters on my hands from shoveling and I think the snowplow hides around the curve and waits until I’m done shoveling the driveway. The JERK!

December 25th – Merry Christmas. More STUPID snow! If I ever get my hands on that STUPID JERK who drives the snowplow, I swear I’ll kill the driver. Don’t know why they don’t use more salt on the roads to melt the darn ice.

December 27th – More snow fell last night. I’ve been inside for three days except for shoveling out the driveway after that snowplow goes through. Can’t go anywhere; car’s stuck in a mountain of snow. The weatherman says to expect another 10″ of snow again tonight. Do you know how many shovels full of snow 10″ is?

December 28th – The darned weatherman was wrong again! We got 34″ of snow this time. At this rate it won’t melt before the summer. The snowplow got stuck in the road and that STUPID JERK had the nerve to come to the door and ask to borrow my shovel. After I told him I had broken six shovels already shoveling all the snow he pushed into the driveway, I broke my last one over his STUPID head!

January 4th – Finally got out of the house today. Went to the store to get some food and on the way back a darned deer ran in front of the car and I hit it. It did about $3000.00 dollars worth of damage to the car. Those beasts should be killed. Wish the hunters would have gotten them all last November.

May 3rd – Took the car to the garage in town. Would you believe the thing is rusting out from the STUPID salt they put all over the roads.

May 10th – Moved to Florida. I can’t imagine why anyone in their right mind would ever live in that god forsaken state of New York.

Gotta Love New York!!!

Have a Great day All!

the local weather guy described this as the "Justin Bieber" winter ....it came down from Canada and overstayed its welcome way too long...

BTW - little trick I know .......if you want to make the symbol for degrees °....as in 70° F all you need is a numeric keypad on your keyboard - make sure the "Num Lock" is on, then, while holding down an ALT key with one hand, type 248 with the other on the keypad....and you get °

other neat symbols that can help in posting are ¢ (ALT 155) - which sure looks better when you want to put your 2¢ in...

é and è - for when you're trying to impress some French gal named Hélène.....

there's all sorts of other neat symbols - here's a great chart with loads of them

I keep a link to that on my desktop - as a writer/magazine editor/owner I use them all the time. ☺

I think I could paint a pretty accurate personality and financial profile for this guy
Have you been working on your hammies? That's quite the leap! ;lol
as i get older im gettin tired of sweatin every day from may till october.
The effort of walking around with all these extra clothes on is wearing me out! ;lol

That's quite the leap! ;lol
Is it really? Ignoring the obvious wild card (irate wife), the guy who moves his entire household north from NC to NH without undrstanding the weather and at least testing the waters a bit, and then decides to throw away that entire expense and head back south after a few months in a known-to-be record winter, is not the guy carefully planning his every move through life.

Rode to the grocery store yesterday evening to pick up a pizza dough, pineapple and cheesy puffs ... on the sled ... bet you can't do that in North Carolina in late March. :)
No, no you can't.

You can't do that in NC in December except in a few higher elevations in the mountains.

I'm born and raised in VT. Parents and grandparents originally from NYC, although extended family is from Wisconsin and Minnesota. Cold is a way of life. I got married years ago in Florida, in June. It was both one of the best days of my life and one of the worst, I'd never been to Florida before and the heat and humidity was unbearable. As I get older I find that I tolerate cold better than heat. I love cutting firewood and running a saw and I have a woodshop that I can spend the winter in without worrying about how much white stuff is on the ground. My folks and my wife are the same way I am. I find myself wondering if I should move to a place that got more snow, like outside Buffalo or somewhere in Michigan, just so I can spend more time on a snowmobile. The south is nice to visit in the winter but you'll never catch me moving there.

My sentiments exactly. It not hard to understand what the "snowbirds" have been doing for decades in florida, which is spending summer up north.

This happens in northern NH frequently. Folks move up in the spring, have a great summer and fall, the holidays keep them distracted and then sometimes around February the for sale sign goes up. People "from away" comment that the locals aren't too friendly, to the locals they figure until the folks "from away" make it through a winter, its not worth wasting the effort.

Well it happened already ,mark the calender, March 28 and i have the AC on in the car. Marks the official end of winter. Although its only 58 outside its sunny and the car is hot inside. I know, i could just roll down the windows but the AC has not been used in awhile and it need to be tested for the long hot summer ahead.

☻° ° wow learn something new everyday, thanks

It won't last long. I'm west of you and it's snowing here so my guess is that it will be snowing on you tomorrow. Mid-60's by Monday though!
