These pellets are only giving me 10 to 11 hours. Feed at 3.75, room temp manual, 72-73. I haven't changed any of the settings since burning the LaCretes or the Logic. When it's above 20 outside I get good burn times. But it got cold last night and the p61 must have been hungry, cause the slide plate was showing when checked. I was getting 14 hours plus out of the LaCretes all winter long.

Thanks for the info.

I don't know about the FSU's, but the Energex are smaller pellets than anything else I have burned (Oakies, Cleanfire, Vermonts, MWP, etc.). More pellets (by weight) can fit into my auger cups because of their size (less air space left over), but I didn't really burn any more pellets than I usually do, except for this cold winter.

Lacretes are softwood, while FSUs are a blend. Of all the pellets I use, the FSUs are the one that force me to make some adjustments. Don't get me wrong, they burn plenty hot, they just burn differently. You might want to adjust your air to see if that helps.

burn fast for me too on a 3 out of a 5 i can burn thru a bag in 10 hrs or less

Are you guys talking about Energex hardwoods American[green bag with flag] or Energex Goldens [yellow bag]

That's from the Energex plant in western Pa, not the one in Canada.
Different Energex plant, different pellet

I've begun burning the Energex (Quebec)... Underwhelmed by the performance.

Hoot,
Thanks for the detail on LaCretes. Sounds like much better performance than my experience over the last few days with the recent cold snap with Energex.

You cleaned your stove when you finished with the LaCrete's/Logics before dumping in the FSUs, correct?

Energex is more central PA......
Why do they only offer SOFTwood pellets at there quebec facility ?
And only HARDwood at my facility ?

BTW to add to the thread I will monitor my Energex burn time tonight and tomorrow.

That is correct. I was out of the LaCretes by the end of February. Gave it a cleaning and ran 5bags of Energex through the start of that second polar vortex and then ran a ton of Lg. Cleaned again and ran the 5 bags of Logic. The Logic was a lot ashier than I remember but gave good heat. I did not clean after the Logic. Just scraped the pot, there was nothing on the exchangers. Now I've got 2 bags of Energex, and it will be FSU for the rest of the ride.

I think mine are a blend. Don't quote me on that. Can't find a definite answer.

Last night I ran the stove hopper empty, than added a bag of Energex hardwoods @ 6:30pm and @ 6:30am the hopper was empty................So on setting 3 with my Big-E a bag of Energex lasts roughly 12hrs.
