My ice auger won't punch through the ice on the lake any longer!
They are using dynamite in WI now to open up the creeks and rivers. You could call up Austin Powder and tell them you want to go fishing.

You guys will be lucky if you get ice out by mid June at that rate ! Well, it will be late anyway.

Well, last night it went below 0, tonights low is forecasted to be 0 and tomorrow night -9F. Last year we had winter storms in May. I have a fire going in the stove like its January! Lol I just heard on the radio that Duluth, MN, not far from here, has had 75 nights below zero this winter. And more to come.

talking blizzard here now for tues night and wed morning. 60 mph gusts, power outages and a foot of snow. We shall see. Right now its 23 out but talking about mid 30's for that storm. Not sure that will support snow but if it does its going to be heavy and wind blown._g

With April just a week away it was 10 degrees on the ride into work this morning here in southern New Hampshire.

Every weekend I hope that it's going to be nice out so I can get out of the house and play with the kids in the yard. But instead it's one crappy weekend after another of maybe 40 degrees with stiff winds and clouds.

There's no other way to say it. This just sucks. I'm generally not one for disrespecting the fairer sex but right now I feel like flipping mother nature the bird.

Lake Girl

Yup, the little tractors will do a lot, and run many tools.

I would love to have a backhoe for Li'll Red, but the $$$$$ and the minimal use we would get from it makes it ?????????

One things is for sure, they really beat having to use a shovel or push a mower.

We have 45 acres, and much of it is timbered, but there is a fair amount of mowing to be done in the spring/early summer, plus the kids use it to drag a 3 point groomer in the horse arena.

Great little tractor.

I feel for you folks caught in the winter mobius.

I'm inclined to believe you are irritated!!

Another storm headed for the NE US Tuesday night. Depending on the track of the storm, it could dump anywhere from 2 - 3 inches up to 2 - 3 feet.

First day back at work after being off for 2 months due to weather restrictions. It was a balmy minus 26 this morning and the wind was relentless all day. Snow squalls moved in later this afternoon off Georgian Bay. We are supposed to get a pretty good dump on Thurs. or Fri. Ice is pushing anywhere from 3 to 4 feet and people are still out ice fishing without a worry. Just like its the middle of January. It's going down to minus 20 again tonight. 42 bags left and at this rate we will being burning into June. We have quite a few feet of snow left on the ground and the melting and flooding has not even begun yet. Our well head is still buried. I haven't seen it since Nov.

I just hope what happened last year, doesn't happen again. That was a lot of water.

-6f here last night.
good news though. friday night is supposed to be above freezing.

Winter storm advisory for Thursday in MN again:(

Winter storm advisory for Thursday in MN again:(
We had our storm here today, not a lot of snow but 50-60MPH wind gusts and mid 30s sustained. 25 deg out. Friday supposed to be 50 daytime temps, sat rain. By Sunday this snow should be history.

Below freezing here in the Tropics of Virginia all day and teens tonight. But hope springs eternal. Looks like after we get through tomorrow the sixties are on the way for the foreseeable future. If it is like the last two cold years we will hit the nineties in the first week of April and then fall off the cliff again.

Ya but you guys get a real spring. I was in Virginia in April one year, warm that year, beautiful. I've never seen willow trees that sat so still in the evening, not a whisper of wind. Cape Cod is very rare to not have at least a breeze going on. Usually the still month is August when you want a breeze but if it's too still and the birds aren't chirping then a storm is coming in , like maybe a hurricane.

Been here 30 years and remember three real Springs. Most years the stove is shut down one day and at most two days later it is A/C time. Last year was a nice long Spring. Hope for another this year. We have earned it.

I have to agree with you Bart. I'm from New England but was stationed in VA Beach for many years (best duty station for an east coast guy). I can remember going from winter in February, when the weather would shift, to polo shirt and shorts and the golf course a couple weeks later in March. It would always amaze me, but you're right on the weather.

We all have !! This was one nasty winter, my wife says it's just a back to normal New England winter like we grew up with. Well that's fine but we aren't 15 any more. . It's time to start getting the tractor and boat ready to go now. Get the yard picked up and stuff.

Couple days ago it was near 70 F and now its raining and windy again with more on the way.

Had the little Whit going all day yesterday, and this morning I started the big one too as it was a bit chilly in the shack.

Typical early spring in NW Oregon

Snow in the Mt's again as well.

The other day we were speaking of the garden and such, not now.

Winter is back. The storm advisory was right:( No rain, went right to snow. At least if had some rain would have removed some of the dirt and bigger snow banks. Still safe to go out on the ice covered lakes. Now if they would just delay the tax dead line too.

Supposed to be 50 here tomorrow, be good for replacing the front door. We got robbed today, they broke down the front door. But ya the taxes go out automatically on the 15th here. Wouldn't mind a return but that's not the case even though that slimy robber probably gets one. Of all the things stolen the one that matters most to me is the clock I built back in the early 80's for my mother before she passed away. I got that back when my father passed and intended to pass it on to one of my kids when I go. Laptops and stuff you can replace, that clock can not be replaced even though it's monetary value is low.

My wife's new laptop gone, all her jewelry gone, went through all our closets and pantry etc, dumped everything on the floor. I got called home when my wife walked into the mess about noon time. My digital piano was still here and the Harmon chugging away. The police thought it was kind of hot in the living room !!

looks like 4 or 5 inches new snow out there right now.
hrummph!
