Hello, just installed a new castile this past weekend. The first burn was smoking from the heat exchanger tubes but seemed to stop after awhile. The last two days I didn't notice smoke but it smoked again today. Any ideas?

Could it be the stove paint "burning in"? Usually when high temp paint is first heated it has a tendency to smoke. It should go away after a few burns.

Is this an insert or a free standing unit? I would think the paint would be burned off by now. Does it smell like paint or like wood burning? It sounds like you have an exhaust leak on start up and the smoke is going into the room fan and out the tubes.

This happened in my Castle Serenity, had it a couple days and it was fine, then smoked one day on startup. I cleaved it and checked, gasket in the t wasn't seated all the way, hasn't happened since.

It's the freestanding Castille. Once the fan starts I can't tell that it's smoking but this could be what it is. It seems to happen right before fan/blower kicks on.
