Do a search on the forum for the PowerSmith and you will find a lot of people, me included, that love'em. Don't know about the other one.

The PowerSmith works great for me. When I empty the ash out of the vac and clean the inside out one of my last things I do is put the hose on the output which blows air out of the hose and put it down the exhaust up to the ESP probe to clean out the exhaust. My exhaust is just going straight out. This cleans the ESP probe and blows a lot of ash out of the exhaust. Then once a year I brush the exhaust.

I will throw my vote in for PowerSmith also. It is a great vac. The wife even loves it.

I bought the Powersmith in December and I love it.Got it on sale from Fleet & Farm for $60. I had been using a 6 gallon shop vac for the last 5 years. I would go through about 8 bags a season at $15. for 2 bags, so I was spending $60. a year plus a new filter every other year. My stove has no ash drawer so the vacuum gets a a lot of use. I think it was a great buy.

Yes, the PowerSmith is a great little vacuum for the pellet stoves, furnaces, and boilers. I use mine every week and really like the little brush attachment to clean and vacuum out the burn pot holes and the door gaskets. Even vacuuming the glass and the area around the glass saves lots of paper towels and cuts way down on the black mess I had cleaning that window before the Smith.

I bought that Cleve ash vac first, and it sucked, or didn't ;), so we returned it.
Wound up with the Powersmith and it's awesome!

This is my Powersmith..
30.00 HD..
2 Gallon/very light..not much ash in a pellet stove to haul around 5 gallon jobber..
White Sock, which catches all the dust, not included.

I don't think he asked for a comparison with SockVac. ;lol

AZ23, be sure to check out the optional attachment kit available for it - well worth it from the looks of it

I'm planning on buying a powersmith w/the kit here pretty quick, I guess it don't clog as fast as my shop vac does

gonna buy a powersmith w/kit this weekend

does anyone know the cheapest place to get these or possibly where they may be on sale?

Thanks!

All Powersmith votes here, so If I ever need another, I'll check that out. I paid less than half-price on CL for a Cougar Quiet Ash Vacuum. A bit heavier motor on this one vs. it's brother Cheetah II. I paid $100 for a new one that goes for $249+ in stores and online. No need to spend triple if the Powersmith does the job....

PowerSmith

Use it while brushing instead of using exhaust fan.

I got my Powersmith on eBay, and love it!

No love for the Love-less ash vac? American made!
