sw missouri
Just ordered a ton @$228 no delivery charge (140 mi rt) but was told rumor mill said pellets will be going up in July in sw missouri area. Since these guys are one ofthe leading harmon/quadra dealers in country I am inclined to believe them. They call all their customers in the summer when the pellet price is lowest to inform them and seem like straight shooters.

Also since we now have a real love affair with our new quad 1200 we are looking for a smaller stove for the basement 12x28 ft. Just to take the chill off when we are down there... any specific quad or harmon we should look at?

Rumors and speculations. It's possible it will go up, but no sense in spreading rumors of heard rumors... whats the point?

Merely asking a question based on what I was told by the dealership. Maybe "rumor mill" was the wrong phrase to use.
Thanks for your input?
Glad your brought "sense" to my inquirey!

I'm sorry to be blunt, but there are dozens of threads about pellet shortages and theories about $8 bag prices next year, and the sky falling.

Also, there was no inquiry related to the title of this thread, only a statement. The one question in the post was about what kind of pellet stove your should get for your basement. Perhaps a different title should be put on your thread to reflect what you wanted to know will get a better response. I'm sure plenty of folks would chime in to a thread titled "what kind of smaller pellet stove is good for a basement?".

Nice used p43 or pc45. Coming up for sale now and you have time to do a very intense cleaning and primping. Maybe a older but simpler Whitfield or p38 with manual light. All stoves I mentioned are going for less than $1k. $50 can get you a couple cans of paint and rope gasket kit. Just do a good firing of a used stove before purchase and should be fine. May be able to find a Santa Fe or Castile for up to $1200
