A Mix Of Pipe Diameters

Looks like the pellet boiler has 1" feed and return lines, the existing feed and return headers are 1 1/4", and the buffer tank feed and return lines are 1 1/2". Furthermore, the buffer tank had a dhw coil inside which has 1 1/4" connections.

I think I will stick with the 1 1/4" and adapt down at the pellet boiler and up at the buffer tank. Adapt up from 3/4" house dhw piping to the 1 1/4" tank coil connection.

Should the locations of the adapters be right at the equipment? Am I using the right approach?

I thought I would just extend the existing 1.25" headers. Maybe less disturbance when dumping into the 1.5" connections at the buffer tank. It won't be that long a run. Is going up to 1.25 from 1 that prohibitively expensive for a short run?

I did notice that HD carried 1" max. I did price something or other at, I think, FW Webb the other day, and they were wildly expensive to this guy who's not in the industry. Perhaps if I tore everything out. It's cool that you can get different size flanges for the circ pumps.
