Pellets in NH? Concord or Lakes Region?

Anyone seen any pellets anywhere? I'm coming to the end of my last ton and the long range forecast doesn't show any nighttime good temps any time soon. I hate to use my furnace as it is propane but I can if I have too.

Also, does anyone know where Spring is? :)
 
They had a pallet of Green Supremes outside the Aubochon in Lee, NH yesterday. I would search for hardware stores on google and just start calling them farther and farther away. It doesn't seem like you'd have to drive 90 minutes to Barrington to find pellets at this point.
 
Lowes in Concord, Tilton, Gilford and Epping all show pellets in stock.
 
Just saw a pallet of presto log pellets in Hooksett. Never burned them. Sorry didn't look for a price on them
 
I think they are becoming a little easier to come by. Was in Salem Home Depot today they had a pallet of GS's sitting on the floor. Also Dodge Grain got to shipments this week and had plenty left on Tuesday.
 
Pellets are showing up all over. I think we're finally past the worst of the shoratge.
 
Thanks everyone! I did get 8 bags at the Concord Lowes yesterday. Tilton Lowes didn't have any but I'm going to check again this morning. I have only been burning a bag every 24 hrs so I will probably be able to get by with another 10 or so. I guess next year I should order 4 ton instead of 3. This is the first year I have used more than 3 so its hard to guage. But the propane is CRAZY expensive so I'd rather have extra pellets than use that.

Lots of friends this year were asking about pellet stoves and I think the "pros" far out way their "cons"! I actually felt bad for my friends this winter as I sat in my 72 degree home :)

Something worth considering.. even though it's a little late...
I always felt it was a good idea, if you are only buying a few bags at a whack,
to buy different than what you are using.
If you are used to using, say Green Supremes (not picking on them), why not buy
3 bags of this, and 3 bags of that... even if you spend more, or have to travel a bit..
Then you can decide what you want to burn in the next season..
You may stumble on to one of those "duh" moments.. where you say,
why didn't I use these sooner??
Where every stove appication can vary, it's good to see what burns best for 'you'... ;)

That is very good advice and exactly what I do Dan. I am always floored by folks that just buy the cheapest pellets and tell me they are all the same. I have a friend that swears there is no difference and I can't remember what pellet we were arguing about but I told him i empty my ash bin every 3 weeks or so and he says that is not possible he emptys every week (we have the same stove). I tell him its those cheapass pellets you buy from Tractor Supply and he just laughs at me.

I have found that for the money Green Team has been best for me. There are better ones for sure like the ones from wood pellets.com here in NH, but for me the price difference just is not worth it. I also have no way to transport or re-pack tons so that is why I purchase from Lowes. They deliver with that pallet jack thing that drops them right where I want them so I don't have to re-pack them.

That is good advice though, I wish I could actually find different kinds so I could check some more out. I know they also change after awhile. I don't think Green Teams are as good as they used to be like 3-4 years ago, so now would be a good time to look around.

If you have the space, I highly recommend buying all your pellets for next season now so you aren't scrambling for pellets in the fall / winter.

Hearthworks in Hooksett had one ton of Cubex left this morning. Hearthworks in Kingston was out. I called Fallon's in Hampton.....still rationing.... ten bags max. They had Vermont's and Maximum's. Too far to drive for just ten bags for me. I called East Coast Lumber, they're currently out. Dodge Grain in Salem had plenty of Geneva and Logik-e. I think the Geneva were $6.59/ bag and the Logik-e were $6.99. I bought 1/2T of he Logik-e hardwoods. That's a lot of money for an OK pellet. I would prefer to be burning a better pellet but this should get me through the cold weather. I still have 150 gal of fuel oil so I've got plenty of heat and should not need to buy any oil next year. Dodge Grain was very busy and the pellets were going pretty fast. I think the worst is over.

Yup. They only had the one ton and that was Saturday morning. Call first.

I have burned about every brand I could get my hands on somewhat locally,
and I can say they are not the same! I check each sampling by reading the stove temp
in the same place at the same time interval, with the same two stove settings..
One medium, and one low.. And always consider price in the equation.
Had very good results with the La Cretes from Henry's...;)
