Fat lady ain't even close to a tune !!! The 5 big ice cubes to the west are telling me it will be a long cold spring !
Just ask Gore!

not ready to call it quits yet but our last major storm (5f) for the winter may have just finished .. but it's 54f outside .. 65f forecast tomorrow .. headed for 77f next week or spring weather is a calling ...

I've been burning Logik-E compressed sawdust logs and an old door that I took down. So yeah, I'm ready to be done just because I ran out of real firewood in January. If I had plenty of dry firewood, I wouldn't mind keeping it going. I'm going to spend the warmer months preparing for next winter, although they are already predicting a milder winter with El Nino.

The snow has finally frozen hard enough that I can reach my fully seasoned wood with the wheelbarrow. I was burning junk that was intended for 2015 for a few days because it was all I could reach, but now I'm happy again. Not nearly done, especially with $3/gal propane as my other option.

36f raining & windy .. hypothermia weather .. bone chilling despite being not that cold.

buck 91 still cranking .. down to less than one cord .. plenty to finish season. will have to get busy restocking wood.

just grabbed another 1/2 cord of wood for the rest of the season.. Will it be enough?

Realistically I expect to burn another cord, but you're in a colder part of the country. So you may want to think about getting your hands on some more wood or Envi Blocks or something. Good luck!

T-shirt weather here in PA today, 58F. Unfortunately all the sudden snow melt has turned my yard into a swamp, I won't be cleaning up those storm-damaged trees yet.
I was skiing last night, I don't expect we're done burning yet, but at least now I can reach my well seasoned wood again, so I don't care how much longer I'm burning.

The forecast here for the week is a bit warmer than it's been. Snow mid week. I have a lot of wood close to the house, so I won't have trudge thru the snow to the main piles. With cold nights I burn right to the end of May.

It's been a year that will set a new level of preparedness for us wood burners.

Oh, I still have plenty of wood for two to three more seasons already. I just wonder if I'll need to get another load from where I store it (uncles farm).

I still have another 1/3 cord sitting on one side of my house too so if I need more after the 1/2 cord I'll use that little bit up. Hopefully I'm done digging into next year's stash!

77f outside today .. feels like spring .. burning small splits in Buck 91, really glad I'm running a Cat .. more shoulder weather to go yet

1/2 way thru January, bought a cord of kiln dried that I thought would be more than enough to take me to spring. It's gone! I'm down to two fires a day. Little one in the morning and a big one around 4pm. And throw a couple extra pieces on around 8.

I just got 5 semi seasoned cords of wood dropped in the drive. And 5 more cords of rounds on the way. No more scrambling in feb/march for me. Will feel nice to have the next few seasons worth drying out there.

Also had a thought. Can you think of another investment besides wood that has a 250% increase in value over two years! You buy a cord of logs for $100, CSS it, let it sit there for two years and its worth $350/cord

Exactly, I immediately thought of my guns ad bows. The dog has also brought many bird and fowl to the table, so he stays too. Cant forget the chainsaw and splitter as well.

I think I may have had our last fire 2 weeks ago. Looking at the forecast it is looking like we may be done for the year. Who else is done???

Me. I could probably do a small fire in the morning but eventually you gotta stop for the season.

Not yet. Fire tonight as house is chilly and low is supposed to be around 40. Probably a few night fires still ahead but end is getting close. Allelujah:)

Still burning. Small fire in the morning and evening is about all I need to keep the house at about the right temp. Still have wood and don't like being cold.

Done....lol..burnt close to 4 cord dis year...just tryn to get ahead for the next 3...still alot of work ahead...::-)

I would like to THINK that I am done, but who knows the way this weather has been going??!!

I'm looking at probably 4 or 5 more weeks of burning. I'm no longer getting up in the middle of the night to re-load (which is nice), but the nights are still below freezing. I'm ready for warm weather cause this winter has been a mean ol' SOB. I'm taking advantage of the longer days now and using my chainsaw mill to make a bunch of boards and beams out of some Doug Fir on my property that had mistletoe fungus. They will be turned into the woodshed I plan on building this summer and I'm drawing it up to include a little sauna room on the end of it. My buddy has a bunch of cedar trees that he wants to clear along the side of his house and he said I could have the logs if I drop them without damaging his house. Should be a fun project. I'll have to keep the camera handy as I move forward.

Nope, not yet. Mama keeps saying she's cold and I ain't turning up the heat and giving money to the electric company.

50 and raining was the high today, low in the lower 40's so still burning off and on here. Most likely will be burning tomorrow as well, but the rest of the week looks warmer so may not the rest of the week.
