So as you guys are wrapping things up for your burning season, we are just getting started down here in the southern hemisphere....its been cold and wet and before I started burning I needed to buy some new fire bricks for my Austwood insert....I measured up the the insert the other week and ordered new bricks from BBQ's Galore.....as it turns out no one stocks bricks to fit my heater anymore so i had to do some hard core mathematics to calculate a combination of different sized bricks to fit my insert...in the end i still had to do some trimming with an angle grinder to get the perfect fit....
Off to the store to pick up the bricks with my dog to keep me company....
two different sized bricks...
just over $11 AU per brick for anyone in Australia wondering how much......
Heres my insert with the old bricks removed.....
I had to trim the edge off one brick, but otherwise a perfect fit....2 X HS 22's up the back and 4 X HS 20's along the front with 90mm taken off the long edge of the last brick for a perfect fit.....
So then I cracked the seal on the 2014 wood pile and transferred a few wheel barrow loads up to my wood box outside the back door...

First fire for 2014
So happy to be burning again...
time to sit back and enjoy a cold beer...
